I like that 6 , but would have Kyle Hayes in somewhere
Wing back for Morrissey.
I can assure you Peter Duggan would not win ten balls in front of him.
Peter Duggan didn’t win ten balls in front of Dan Morrissey either so it’s an irrelevant comparison
He won a shed load of ball and if it broke he was fouled. Have a look back if you have it recorded.
Things very hoganstand around here at the moment.
You are the prime suspect for that fella.
What age are you?
I am quite obviously a lot more mature than your good self. Have a look at the club championship thread and the bile you posted the last few days. Go away out of it.
Dempsey is flavour of the month now?? He did well enough v Cuala but the lads who showed they have something to offer were Dowling (day 2) and Downes
“Your mums athletic” - very mature.
Peter Casey showed in the last 20 minutes on Saturday he’d a cool head under pressure and continued to take the right option. As did dowling. Dempsey was a starter last year so has credit in the bank. As for Downes he’s unlikely to be a sub id imagine.
Downes will more than likely be guaranteed a place in the subs because he can play in any of the 6 forward positions.
I didn’t consider Casey, he’s a certain starter and rightly so, Dempsey has his work cut out, I wouldn’t start him but I’m not a student of Limerick hurling, I think Dowling on his game will make Limerick a better team, quite a few of the alternatives are two a penny players, Downes offers a different threat as well, he’s fit and his form is decent
See, that would normally work in his favour but Kiely appears to have very set ideas about his subs for different positions.
For example, I think most people would say that Colin Ryan is a better wing-back than Paddy O’Loughlin but O’Loughlin is his wing-back sub as of now. Malachy is midfield. Barry & Reidy are half-forwards. Pat Ryan Simon & Mulcahy inside.
None of these players have been employed elsewhere, I don’t think, despite being versatile.
No point speculating on who are best six forwards are. This new format is going to seriously test squad depths and there will be 20 players used in most games I reckon. One thing the league has showed though is that we have viable options. If we can develop composure and take the right decisions in terms of shot selection we will clock up serious scores as we are creating bucket loads of chances. Big if though🤞!
Downes is at best 5th choice at 11 and 4th at 14. The only position he’ll ever be considered under kiely is in the corner and he’s probbaly 4th there too. Very Unlikely to be a sub.
Reidy,BOC and O’Loughlin will have to fight for their lives just to stay on the panel now that the NAP contingent are back,it’s a harsh situation but it is what it is
There’s absolutely no chance of Reidy being dropped. He’s comtinued to pick off points at every chance he’s got.
Good point but the number of players available has been fairly limited, with a full panel available and everyone up to speed there’ll be changes to selections and the current pecking order. That’s before injuries come into it. I’d be surprised if our first choice 15 is the same for the last day out as it is for the first.
