Limerick GAA - it's Box Office - Always Has Been, Always Will Be

Calm down Mike. Youā€™re talking gibberish, auld joe has you wound. In 90+ mins ye failed to ever lead, but according to you ye should have won ??

@Brimmer_Bradley having a field day here just like Ronan Maher earlier.

Joe you are a windup merchant

Ah the gang love having a pop at all things Tipperary. Sure Iā€™m only having the crack and giving back a little.

Putty_mike is sound Iā€™d like to add, I just canā€™t see how a team that never led in 90mins should have won.

Good message, but I have to take issue with the fact that you claim Quaid is not a goalkeeper?
And that Hickey shouldnā€™t be on the panel? Heā€™s probably under pressure for his place on the starting team but is a serious option at corner back and wing back as well. Iā€™d have him on the Limerick panel.
As for Tipp, Iā€™ve never liked them, but I wouldnā€™t say that this team are any dirtier than any other team at the moment

You seem obsessed with Limerick, posting like a madman on the Limerick thread. Iā€™d say you are shitting yourself thinking about the championship. Hopefully all your big guns will be back as a few of those on display today were dross.

Interesting that Richie McCarthy never got out on the field this evening, Iā€™d imagine tonight was an ideal opportunity to get a good test into his legs before championship, if indeed they plan on playing him at full backā€¦ unless he is injured.

It might suggest that Mike Casey could be in line for the jersey as, in my opinion, Hickey was poor tonight. He didnā€™t command anything. A full back needs to be ruthless. Seamus is not ruthless. A full back needs to have earned his corn at club level and itā€™s a piece of the jigsaw we are yet to fit. As good as Finn and English are if thereā€™s a scrap on the floor for a dirty ball Seamus isnā€™t going to bust lads out of his way and burst clear and lord it up the field.

Now, Forde or whoever might still have done well off Richie or Casey but by God theyā€™d have earned it. It was too easy for them tonight in that regard.

My sentiments exactly Mike we are building momentum. We got crushed the last 2 years in league semi finals but this year it feels we are building towards something

Totally agree Dodgy with your points there

Apart from the wides, what is frustrating is winning decent ball in the corner but no-one booming up three centre to provide an option.

Agreed some great diagonal balls sent in that Flanagan and Gillane were winning but then being slowed up as no one coming through the centre.

Positives tonight:
Hegarty yet again
Lynch again
Tom Morrissey
Nash was lively when he came on
The team doesnā€™t know when itā€™s beaten

Negatives:
The whole full back line was poor. Finn maybe best of them. Richie English had his worst game this year
Kyle Hayes was not up to his standards of last year but hopefully itā€™s down to ring rust
Very disappointed in Byrnes wastefulness/wides again
Full forward line was well shackled. Flanagan and Barry Murphy in particular it was not one of their better games
Malachy very disappointing the game passed him by

The team deserves a well earned rest now after a great league and hopefully come back fresh and hungry for championship. Itā€™ll be nice to see a few of the Na P boys in there. Peter Casey goes straight into first 15, David Dempsey a nice impact sub, and Will Oā€™Donoghue could be edging closer to starting midfield.

Peter Casey is having an operation in his shoulder out for 6 weeks touch and go for Tipp game on May 20

FFS

The points from play from opposition midfielders is becoming a big concern for us.

Fuck

Yep heard it at the match this evening from one of my NaP sources. I think we need Mike Casey full back. Hickey wonā€™t do there and I donā€™t see a spot for him in the half back line.

ā€œGut wrenchIng ā€œ ???

it was a league game . The better team won playing within themselves . Tonight was a good experience for a young team .
