Limerick GAA - it's Box Office - Always Has Been, Always Will Be

We’ve a grand record in Ennis at U21 in the last 20 years or so. Big wins in 2000, 2011, 2015. Think anytime Clare have beaten us has been in HQ actually.

There’s a little bit of steel coming back into the senior side now and it’s long overdue. Finn and English won’t be pushed around. Byrnes, Hegarty, Hayes and Flanagan are well able for it too and won’t be standing back. And it hasn’t come at a cost either. In the past we had the steel but it wasn’t wrapped up in any sophistication!

Unfortunately we still have a few that will shirk it but they are being forced out by new comers.

What was the 2011 game? I’m drawing a complete blank even though I was possibly there.

Remember the Munster final and AI semi final that year alright!

Downes was full-forward anyways and roasted Pat O’Connor, think he got 1-3 or 1-4. There was a penalty/21 at the death, I think Dowling or Alan Dempsey stopped it on the line.

Jesus, old age must be getting to me. Absolutely no memory of that game!

It used to be all the losses that blended into eachother you know things are on the up when you cant remember the wins!

What is it, like 14 of that team currently senior. And Hanley & McNamara probably would be there if available.

It was an exceptional 21’s team though, hope both Hanley and McNamara can commit to the seniors in the future.

Hanley was outstanding at midfield v KK last year in the 21s AI final. Literally ran over the cunts.

Declan Hannon scored two beautiful points that night, one in front of the covered terrace off his weaker side on the run was applauded by all the Clare fans around me. It was sublime.

Hayes to 6,Hannon to HF again and Richie back into FB is the recent word! :grinning:

I heard Hannon won’t be 6 anyway

Hegarty and Hayes actually able to win their own ball in the HF line, something we’ve craved for years = lads want them moved to HB line

Hannon spent years as a half forward, even full forward and while he did OK he was not fulfilling his potential. Has been excellent since moved to 6 and solved a bit of a problem we had at 6 = lads want him moved back up to HF line

Lovely stuff :pint:
