Limerick GAA - it's Box Office - Always Has Been, Always Will Be

Big weekend in most of the hurling divisions this weekend. Last game of hurling for the year for a lot of teams. Few good match ups in store. Senior largely decided, and premier has another round to go, so I’d say intermediate will have the matches of the weekend, NCW vs Drom for third place and Hospital v Kierans to avoid relegation final the picks for me. Junior A will look a lot clearer after this weekend as well.

Pick of the matches are at Junior for me- the two West semi-finals should be good. Pats vs NaP too. At least it’s real knockout.

1st against 2nd in both intermediate groups, might give us some indication as to who is likely to go up. Dromin/Athlacca haven’t had any challenge yet, will NaP give them one? Glenroe vs K/P too, Glenroe laid down a marker last weekend. Both teams have been there or thereabouts for the past few years.

Half time in Martinstown.

Kilmallock 0-12 Bruff 0-08.

Big news is that Dan Joy started and went off after 15 mins. Just took the helmet off and walked to the sideline. No obvious incident up to that whereby he shipped a heavy knock. With the A-I in a fortnight hopefully it’s just precautionary.

Game is basically a dead rubber and has the feel of a challenge match. Sean Finn named in the programme but didn’t start.

Bruff 'keeper has made three top drawer saves. Not to be outdone Barry Hennessy blocked a penalty just before the break.

Oisin O’Reilly looking sharp while Paul Browne is decent at centre forward. Lovely calm evening and nice way to wind down after the working week.

Alright sort and FOTF Hammy Dawson performing his umpire duties admirably.

Kilmallock win 3-27 to 0-13

Goals from Woulfe, O’Reilly and Eoin Ryan.

Woulfe is going to be a cracking player.

Descended into a rout, sadly. Pity, Bruff were competitive for the first half.

Woulfe is a fine prospect.

Serious engine there

Many at it?

Very small. No bite to the game at all.

They could do with a stand over there. Robbie Hanley and Graeme Mul didn’t feature either.

I’d consider that a shock.

Agreed,

Rathkeale are v limited hurling wise but they’re super fit.

Tour were 10 points the better team. However, they forgot that it takes 60 minutes to win a game. Players and mentors alike decided they had the game won half way through the 2nd half. It was a spectacular robbery in fairness, 3 goals in last five minutes, 2 of those in the last minute and injury time

@dunph will be devo

Fuck them, the way they carried on they deserved to be caught.

No one better than the Rathkeale lads to rob a victory

Huge result for them to be fair winners of the other semi will be happy enough though. Sickner for Tour another year in the wilderness

Who’s the other semi in the west?

Kileedy and Feenagh be a tight game too I’d say
