Limerick GAA - knocked down, but will get up again

What about Ciarán Carey?

I would say Lynch is more skillful than Ciarán, Hannon more stylish, but overall Ciarán is the best Limerick hurler I’ve seen

No, just the very end of his career

A sublime hurler in his peak.

And well able to handle the Rathkealers!!!

Gary Kirby was my favourite hurler of the 90’s era. Fuck it he had it.

As they say he was unorthodox, but the man was so effective.

A real Patrickswell aristocrat.

Going back prior to the 90’s team, the lads in my view for consideration in the best team I’ve seen would be: Tommy Quaid, Leonard Enright, Sean Foley, Jimmy Carroll, Cregan and Big Joe.

Cregan is Limerick’s greatest hurler since 1960 . No one is really as brilliant .

Fuck it he cut us badly in 94 though.

Pat Hartigan is an horrendous omission. A multiple All-Star and Celtic cross holder.

The best of them all

Good point. I saw more of Enright though. You could also make a case for Liam O’Donoghue.

Pat Hartigan last played in 1979 . I am not sure if Balbec had got confirmation at that stage .

He did and it hurt him ,

Around that time.

In 20 years time those of us that are still alive will be giving this accolade to Seamus Flanagan in my view.

We cut ourselves in 94.

He hasn’t a hope with ye apes blowing smoke up his hole.

A true great doesn’t get bet up a stick in an U21 game is my current opinion of him.

Time will tell pal.

He has the raw materials and is young yet. I think he’s only going to improve.

Great talent but long long way to go. Easy hurl well on teams with huge momentum,
