Limerick GAA - knocked down, but will get up again

Another Beary shambles or players not up to it?

It was our weakest batch of minors in the last seven years playing in this grade. It was to be expected. Cork likely to win it out.

What did he do to deserve the red?

Beary was appointed late enough in the year. I wouldn’t be laying tgd blame at his feet.

Did I see Aaron Murphy involved on the management team? His mammy must have got him the position?

Murphy, Paul Browne & Ger Downes.

Isn’t it nice to see lads brought in to help with underage teams. Paul Browne has enough on his plate but maybe he has given up on making the senior team?

How can any of us say with any degree of certainty what you saw?

He’d hardly be breaking his balls with the seniors if he had, and he’d hardly be kept involved if he wasn’t working hard and was only along for the ride.

I’d imagine he’s there for leadership etc. as much as anything. He’s well down the pecking order at the moment. Would be great to see him get some game time this year though.

Hard to know where he’s really placed if fully fit and firing, or even to know what level he’ll get back.

Beary had an average bunch of players. There was no huge demand for the gig. Beary got the job late enough too .

Not saying he is the greatest coach but he shouldn’t take much flak here .

Brownes days are over he’s now 5th choice midfielder. He’s a really good guy and has some decent coaching experience already. I’d imagine he was kept as an older head. Richie mc is obviously out and hickey is gone too. Condon and McCarthy are great servants but never struck me as mentors or coaches types. Hannon is probably 26 and after that there’s very few experienced heads in the squad.

Apart from Nickie, Dowling, Downes and Mulcahy?

Dowling is younger than hannon. Downes isn’t really an experienced inter county hurler . He’s barely played for limerick in the last 5 years.

He’s almost as many games played as Richie McCarthy. Dowling has almost as many games played as Hannon.

The three months age difference between Hannon and Dowling is huge alright

Don’t lads. Just don’t.

Slippery slope alright

I think you’ve taken up my point wrong. I’m saying the vast majority are young. Hannon is 26 and we’ve maybe 5 or 6 lads older than him. It’s no harm to keep a fella like Browne involved. Browne worked lit and other club teams.

When the present group move on in a couple of years the future doesn’t look too bright.
