Limerick GAA - We get knocked down 🐐

As many said, badly managed. Why there were or should be any changes from the team in the semi to the final is beyond me. (At least with regard to the changes that were made, ones that might have been needed making went unaddressed.) Some of the selections/positioning was just baffling. Ryan was one of Justin McCarthy’s lieutenants, and now this. FFS.

Fair play to the players. I dare say more of them will go on to be senior intercounty hurlers than from the kk team today. Here’s hoping they get a competent manager when they hit 21s.

Just back from Croke Park.

First up thanks to the players for their efforts this year. Munster title retained and a huge amount of hard work undertaken by them. Just not their day but gave it their all. The better team won. Still, as below par as we were we could have easily won with all the goal chances that went a begging.

What in the name of Christ were Kip and his management team at? In the semi final Ronan Lynch gave an absolute masterclass from wing forward in terms of scoring and creating. Ran the show and was the attacking fulcrum. How and why they persisted with him at corner forward for nearly all the second half is an absolute mystery. It wasn’t as if he played badly - he just didn’t get the ball. He had not played corner forward all year, doubt he has even played their for his club, yet in the biggest game of the year he was lumped in there. Absolute insanity. The game was crying out for him to be brought out to the half forward line and boss things.

Showed Kilkenny far too much respect. Rather than go out and let them worry about us we bent the knee and played with fear. Players put in positions they had not played all year, total lack of sideline intellegence or shrewdness. Needless changes for the sake of it, tried to be too smart for our own good and got caught out. The subs were kamikaze, no method to them whatsoever. Very frustrating. The line made a complete bollocks of things.

Very demoralised coming out of that game today. Another one that got away from us and mostly self inflicted. Mind you a prominent local journalist will give the management team a rim job yet again this week and this debacle will quickly be brushed under the carpet. Joe Quaid won an AI with these lads two years ago and due to gross ineptitude we threw another one away. Soul destroying.

I’m disgusted with that result. What hope have we of winning up there when a team as good as those young lads gets beaten. It very much seemed that the management decided that this was their own big day to showcase their talents.

Tactics and gameplan are something that i agree with but a management team will live and die by those decisions and they got quiet a lot wrong today imo. Besides everyone knew that it was Kilkenny that had to come up with a gameplan to stop Limerick as they had looked a better team throughout the championship. Hindsight is great but if Limerick had started the same 15 as the last day and introduced a few subs in a conventional way they would have won today.

Hindsight not necessary, could have told you that after the semi.

Well done to the minors, unlucky not to have got a proper performance out of themselves yesterday, hopefully the last two seasons stand to them and they’ll make the break through next year and win the A I. Next year we have to try harder again and we will.

what the fuck was going on with the throw in in the first half? Looked like the majority of the Limerick time lined up on the wrong side of the field, if KK won that clean it was a goal

Batt is not in a very good place this morning even though the working day doesn’t start until the afternoon. That AI was lost because of the egos of the Liberties Clique currently infesting minor hurling in this fine county. Kip Killigan and his band of hangers on have done a massive disservice to those young lads and should hang their heads in shame. In their rush to gain the glory for themselves they shafted those young lads royally. I was genuinely hoping that Kip could have laid to rest the ghosts of 2010 when, along with the County Board, Justin and Garvey, they almost destroyed a generation of players but it was not to be. The time is ripe for wholesale change and Joe Quaid should be invited back with Anthony Carmody and Shane Fitzgibbon as his management team. The other politician the Politically Motivated Understudy should also be handed his p45 and all efforts should be made to bring in a real hurling man who will stay out of the politics, Anthony Daly.

Unfortunately I won’t get to hear The Voice of Limerick GAA talk on Thugby FM this morning but I guarantee it will consist of a defence of management. I had hope they might have spoken about the hurling in the first hour but Thugby have better things, like the fucking granny puppet yokey, to be talking about.

You’re some fucking hypocrite @Batt the lad, calling fellas politically motivated, when as far as I can see you talk about nothing else but hurling politics, and use the same such to try undermine anyone with any bit of power in Limerick hurling.

I bet you he’d much rather be a politically motivated understudy than a politically motivated internet nobody like yourself, or in an acronym you’d understand

Politically internet nobody motivated?

take it anyway you want it, considering the fucking molly-aw can’t get PMU right.

Hard luck Limerick, KK deserved their win.

Nice to see the Cusack Stand giving the LK lads a serious round of applause leaving the pitch.

Why was it nice to see? Applauding an abject display was utter folly.

It was a sympathetic clap. It’s not their fault they were born in Limerick.
“Hard luck lads, you’re born losers and there’s nothing you are anyone else can do about it”

Yet another bottle job by Ballysteen

T’was and it t’wasnt

@carryharry cosying up to other counties sickens me to the core, pal. I’m an angry keyboard warrior these days and I’m going for the INTERNET jugular from here on in.

How many pages was the preview fir the minor match in the Leader last week? 28 pages?

are you Wexford?

Proper order, the internet is serious business for a serious businessman like yourself.

Yes, this was ascertained last week but its ok, apparently no one reads the Leader according to some of the Limerick posters here so it didn’t matter.

Like fuck it didn’t.
