Limerick GAA - We get knocked down 🐐

Agree. We should be battering down his door for next season.

Where has he got his hurling coaching from if he’s primarily a football man? Does he hurl with monaleen? Is he a football coach too?

Didn’t hear anything, Batt. Something has definitely gone on in the backround, Kip has been the golden boy for a couple of years and then he is unceremoniously dumped out. He looks nailed on for the u-21 job in two years time, though.

Ciaran should have got a second year. His own club-mate shafting him is terrible. Kiely is meant to be a top class coach though so hope he does well next year, all depends on the draw.

Just back from Mick Neville Park. Premier Intermediate hurling championship result. Bruree 2-05 Croom 0-10.

Close game all the way through but low on quality, a cracking goal from Michael “Mixer” Lane in the second half decided it. What Bruree lack in ability they make up for in heart and spirit. On a difficult night for hurling, with incessant drizzle, they ground out the win. Peter Lawlor was decent for Croom. Conor Allis had a nightmare on the frees, missed a rake of them including a scoreable one with the last puck of the game with the chance to salvage a point. Lengthy stoppage at the end of the first half after one of the Bruree lads got an awful belt of a hurley across the knee (accidentally). He had to go off but was able to watch the second half from the sideline so hopefully it is not too serious.

Two senior football quarter finals tomorrow afternoon in Kilmallock and two senior hurling quarter finals in the Gaelic Grounds.

Premier IHC semi finals.

Bruff v Garryspillane & Blackrock v Croom.

Hospital/Herbertstown and Knockaderry relegated to intermediate.

Conor Allis and his weirdly shit & awfully time consuming freetaking style strikes again. I told you fuckers he didn’t have any control over where the sliotar was going when he was spraying efforts both over the bar and wildly wide against Wexford last March. He doesn’t even strike the ball with the middle of the bàs.

As you say he just lashes the ball, practically no control over it. He must have scored about five tonight and missed as many again. He was decent from open play but looked totally ill at ease taking the frees.

And the junior B football replay in Cooleyroe

It’s harsh enough to criticise a player like that personally. He knows he is not good enough to make it, but injuries haven’t helped his cause either. His a gentleman by all regards so lay off Bandage.

The oracle of Hurling Club Championship strikes again, Where you at the match or are you judging a fella by hearsay. Fuck me, If a Limerick poster was to carry on like that about a Wexford panelist there would be serious questions asked.

He has a patently ridiculous freetaking technique and it’s a valid point to make. Being a gentleman or not doesn’t really have anything to do with it. I’d actually have no issue if somebody pointed out that a Wexford hurling freetaker was completely unreliable - it being a GAA thread and all.

Pm please

Kilmallock 0-24, Adare 2-16.

Just back from Kilmallock and the Gaelic Grounds.

Pats 5-07 Kierans 1-13. Entertaining senior football championship quarter final, Pats better all the way through. Boris fouled for a penalty which he buried himself, Gearoid Hegarty scored a cracking goal too. No 25 started, think it was Keelin Stephenson, scored two absolute screamers in either half too. Kierans were gutsy, got it back to 4 points late on with a succession of points but they were killed off by the 5th Pats goal.

In the second game Ballylanders prevailed after a bruising encounter against NCW. 27 man brawl towards the end of the match after which ref Denis Richardson issued straight red cards to Tom Lee and second half sub James Kelly. The second goal was controversial, NCW player went to pick the ball up after his team-mate cleared an effort off the line but he mis-controlled and handled it on the line. The umpire, who was literally two yards away, awarded the goal even though it wasn’t over. Should have been a penalty. Ballylanders were better all the way through though, Danny Frewen was excellent.

Headed straight to the Gaelic Grounds for the hurling, missing the first 20 mins of Kilmallock-Adare. Kilmallock always had their noses in front but Adare were unlucky not to get a draw in the end. With time up and trailing by a point Diarmuid Sexton’s point effort hit the angle of post and crossbar, rolling across the goal-line as players piled in. It was scrambled clear before it went wide. From the resulting puck out impressive second half sub Robbie Hanley scored his second point for the insurance score. Robbie Egan was excellent at wing forward, Liam Walsh dependable as ever at wing back. Scored two monster points. Willie Griffin was lively for Adare. Was chatting to a couple of Kilmallock lads - one of their players was best man at his friends wedding today, left the reception to play the match before returning after.

The second match was a rout. Ahane battered Liberties, @Batt the Ladd will be pleased with that. Total non contest. Barry Nash buried a couple of 21 yard frees late on to put some respectability on it.

Semi finals - Na Piarsaigh v Ahane and Doon v Kilmallock. A tenner into the football but 15 for the hurling.

Wexford away is the clearly the hardest game. Not Waterford at home.

Ballysteen best St Kierans by a point to win the west junior b football.

Are you involved?

Coach. Its the fairytale story of the year. The same team beat us by 25 points in the group stages. We then went on and beat the 3 tournament favorites in the knock out stages. We would have been 100/1 outsiders early in the year.

The 3 favorites in junior b. Favouritism in junior b is very much dependent on what wedding/fortieth/21st is on at the weekend.

Who won the liberties game?

The Mackey crowd, very easily
