Limerick GAA - We get knocked down 🐐

Twenty mins left. Level.

Hon t fuck!!

Why am I not there? FFS… Let’s hope they can pull off a shock, would be an unbelievable result. Great effort regardless.

Goal for cork. Three down. Fuck sake.

We are tiring. Four down with six left.

Real gutsy effort.

Another soft goal conceded. Eight down. Injury time. We are not eight points a worse team.

Another goal for Limerick!

Full time. 5-08 to 2-12.

Great effort. Limerick football may have some life left after all.

Fair fucks to the 21s after years of 20 odd point hidings and terrible organisation that was a great effort tonight.

Hopefully. It’s encouraging anyway, best performers?

Gearoid Hegarty was magnificent. The best midfielder on view. After getting level with twenty mins to go we lost some composure and corks subs pushed them on. Didn’t score for about 15 or 20 mins at the end.

Cork had a big strong number 14 and he saved them, long ball into him got them out of jail.

Better team won but the soft goals killed us. Real ballsy performance.

Ah fuck it anyway, we fell a little short and the cork full forward did a lot of damage. Post mortem starting here

Reidy has been really shafted. Not a corner forward.

Ridiculous decision at centre back. Should be Dowling.

Not a corner forward but wouldn’t say shafted.

It’s clear from teams selected to date that the league is being used for experimentation, with little emphasis being placed on promotion.

Congratulations to Waterford on a swift return to Div 1A.

We’re facing a sixth season outside the top tier. I only hope it comes right for the championship.

From what I gather, they seem resigned to the fact that they aren’t going to catch Waterford. They’re expecting to win their remaining home games and hoping for the best with Wexford & Waterford.

It’s not like we’ve had a massive choice to pick from up til now. For a few games it was a case of picking whoever was fit. Condon to wing is the main experiment. GOM at half forward was to some extent necessary. Hannon back to 6 is the only big experimentation, we’ve picked close to the strongest team available for every game.

Repeating myself on this thread but not hung up on promotion (convenient you may say after Limerick won in Wexford Park). Decent tests in 1B these days, you get your quarter final against 1A opposition too and can proceed further and play more 1A opposition if you win that game. There’s loads of time between end of league and start of championship and most 1B teams play challenge games against a selection of 1A teams in late April and into May in any case. Plus there’s laughing stock teams like Clare in 1A.
