Limerick v Clare AI Semi-Final

They’ll shit themselves , there’ll be 30 cheap suits on eBay Monday morning

If we got early goals I reckon we’d give them a serious doing. It’s a very thin veneer of confidence with Limerick. Crack it at all and they collapse.

After the first 3-4 balls into Honan the place will resemble a farm yard where the slurry spreader was switched on with the top left open

Honan plays top right, not top left. You don’t even know your own players’ positions FFS sake.

I’d say Davy thinks he’s waiting in the long grass for Limerick, then again he’s right as all grass looks long when a dwarf is standing in it.

have some copper if you would like it just call around in the pickup

Ye did have the upper hand, but ye never pushed on and put the game beyond doubt, which should be a worrying thing in itself. [/quote]
So Claire should have won? How delusional are you?!

How many Clare players would make the Limerick team?

Goals, Quaid.
FB: Maybe we’d play McInerney corner back instead of Walsh.
HB: We’d probably take Bugler at 5 although he is not as good as Wayne Mc.
Midfield would be O’Grady, and one of Hickey or O’Brien having been released from wing back/half forward by a Clare draft.
HF: you’d have to fit in Kelly and Conlon there.
FF: Honan wouldn’t edge out Hannon but maybe we’d play him or Collins in the corner instead of Tobin, with Mulcahy in the other corner.

Max 5.

What’s your criteria for picking the team, obvious Limerick bias aside?

Nicky Quaid is still unable to stop shots going across him to his right. McGrath will stick one past him on Sunday doing exactly that.

How many u21 players are starting for Clare on Sunday?

Current 21’s. McInerney, Podge Collins, Tony Kelly and Colm Galvan are all nailed on. Peter Duggan may also start.

Aaron Cunnigham, Shane O’Donnell and Seadna Morey all likely to figure off the bench

I’m going with Clare this weekend, think they will win by 4 pts at least.

More or less pick the best team from both sets of players. Fair to say limerick largely better from 1-9 or so while Clare a bit better from 10-15.

Kelly, mcinerny, bugler, Kelly , galvin , conlon, Collins , Honan would literally walk onto the limerick side. But that’s not really the issue. The real issue for limerick is that 5 of their starters ( quaid, Browne , McNamara , Breen , hickey) wouldn’t even make the clare 24

But you haven’t. What exactly have you to back up the claim that Wayne Mc is better than Bugler for instance? Bugler has his deficiencies but is a very consistent player, one of the finest half backs at Fitzgibbon level over the last decade, a current all star. Wayne Mc is a lad who was destroyed by Enda Barrett just over a year ago for instance, can’t remember Bugler being roasted in a similar manner by as limited a player

Tony Kelly is a far superior hurler than any of the lads in the Limerick half forward line and Colm Galvan was the dominant midfielder on display when the teams met 12 months ago and is bang on form yet you think Paul Browne would get in ahead of him as well.

I am a big fan of Graeme Mulcahy and he is a very underrated player but over the last 3 seasons Conor McGrath has give far more consistent performances and has been far more eye catching.
I would think there is little or nothing in ability wise between Pat O’Connor and Paudie O’Brien and Pat Donnellen and Gavin O’Mahoney either.

These are just a few. I would like for you to explain your choices so we can see the rational behind them

Very little between bugler and Wayne mc, in a composite team i’d have both. But, if I had to pick only one of them at 5 I slightly prefer Wayne as a player. Like bugler he has his deficiencies but comes up with massive plays like two goals in the last two seasons or hitting lads so hard with shoulders they have to be taken off. I imagine Clare supporters would all prefer bugler and that’s fair enough.

Agree on Kelly, if picking a HF line from the two teams it’d probably be Kelly hannon and Conlon.

I never said I’d pick Browne, I’d have O’Grady first then hickey or o’brien. I’d have galvin ahead of Browne or Ryan, limericks midfield last year.

Nothing between mulcahy and McGrath for me. Massive fan of Honan, he’s practically unmarkable. And if I had both teams to pick from I’d start downes if he was fit.

It is a novelty that the Munster champions must share a pitch with this poor Clare team of low quality hurlers.

Credit to Clare for ambushing Galway, but Sunday could set hurling in Clare back 10 years.

Hopefully, Limerick keep the winning margin to within 20 points.

With respect to the final of senior Limerick v Cork and minor Limerick v Waterford, Limerick expect to be All Ireland Senior and minor hurling champions. Limerick confidence is high and the players are there to back up the confidence.

Limerick have already demolished Cork in the senior hurling championship so the senior match will be a walk in the park. Waterford have a good minor team but Limerick have the class and quality to close out the minor.

When was the last time Hickey even played midfield in championship hurling?
