Liverpool 09/10
When did I ever say he was a great defender?

I said he was immense for a few seasons, which he was. He was superb the season following the Champions League as well, which was also Reina’s first season and the season after. His first poor season was last year which coincidentally coincided with Hyppia being out of the team more.
He was immense? But he wasn’t a great defender. So he over achieved? So you’re agreeing with me now?

Are you alright?

Just confused by your climbdown Farmer.

Are you alright?

You’re just babbling now famrer. Its sad.

Funny stuff here, good work hannibal

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is ready make a shock move for Chelsea defender Alex as he bids to boost his defensive options at Anfield. The Brazil star is out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer and has a number of suitors.

Liverpool have now won five games in a row. They are right back in the EPL and I think they will finish 2nd to Chelsea this year.

Liverpool will have only 20m to spend each summer for the next 5 years, and any pay raises/new contracts have to come out of that 20m.

Is that 4 million (20/5) a summer, or 20 million a summer?

Nothing wrong with 20 million a summer.

20 million a summer.
It’s still an ok sum, but nowhere near enough to get the quality in the maintain a serious title challenge over the course of a season.

Assuming they don’t sell anyone.

How much did they spend last season when they came very close to winning it?

20 million on Keane. Sold him for 15 million at Christmas.

That’s loads of money to sustain a challenge.

Not sure. It didn’t say in the article.
It’s from a prospectous sent to potential investors.

They spent 40.3m last season http://www.soccerbase.com/transfers_by_team.sd?teamid=1563

Although they brought in 30.75 - though some of that was loss making on Mr Keane.

20m wouldnt get you Lescott in todays market…:D:D

Didn’t really think about that too deeply - forgot Dossena and Riera.

Still though, 20 million is enough for me. They are not too far away from winning as evidenced by last year.

This season will show how good they are I suppose.

Liverpool might end the reign of Phil Brown at the weekend.

I reckon 4-0.

Would be no harm, total spoofer that guy. Hull look a shadow of the team of last year. Birmingham, missing loads of players through injury, battered them last week.

Ah they were shit last year too. Any manager that signs Paul McShane is obviously a sham.

Still tho if Brown is a spoofer where does that leave Tony Mowbray? Brown’s Hull side with less investment finished far ahead of West Brom last season.

Hull made a great start last season and had great team spirit right up until that muppet Brown gave his half time team talk in the middle of the field.(man city away?. Their fortunes went downhill from there.

West Brom, if i remember correctly. spent very little following promotion. Most of their signings were on season loan deals. They at least tried to play a decent type of football unlike Hull,(Geovanni excluded). I got the impression that the West Brom board/chairman were unwilling to risk spending money in case of relagation.
