I find it incredible that the vast majority of supporters here are selecting best XI’s without Graeme Souness as the midfield lynchpin.
He could fulfil a raft of roles from there, surging forward to score, find the right pass, cover in front of the back four, apply crunching tackles and crack a bone or two (not his own mind) in pursuit of victory.
In his 7 seasons he won 5 leagues, 4 league cups and 3 Champions leagues. He’s the type of formidable on-field leader now required 30 miles away to the East.
