Interesting klopp didn’t want either salah or mane to play in the little tournament called the African cup of nations and now neither are getting the money they deserve.
Sadio Mane lad will always be a Liverpool Legend. European Cup and League and World Club Cup European Super Cup and FA Cup and League Cup. He’s won the lot.
man united fan talking about players getting the money they deserve a club that pays harry maguire, anthony martial and bruno fernandes north of 200k a week
at least sadio and salah are getting the trophies they deserve
You’d think the lad would give the wumming a rest during the close season. Recharge the batteries and resume hostilities in August.
in fairness, he can only keep up that level of mediocrity of he keeps at it.
They did the same thing with Raheem Sterling, who was only asking a reasonable wage given his stature at the time.
Then came the leaks and the guy is hated on Merseyside, despite the fact he gave 100% every match. Also neglecting to mention the fact that Liverpool poached him as a teenager from QPR back in the day.
Who would have thought a multi million business would carry on in such a way.
160 million spunked on Diaz and Nunez and the Liverpool fans will still try and tell you’ve they’ve no money. They don’t like facts.
How can money be ‘spunked’ on Nunez when he hasn’t even played yet? How can that be a fact?
He’s a donkey
Sterling is on record as saying he left because the club’s ambitions did not match his own.
His agent said he would never have left if Coach Klopp had joined sooner.
Liverpool have little or no ambition. He’s correct. Lauding repeated failure over and over again.
The club received €88m last week from uefa for their CL run. Nunez cost €75m. Great business*
*If the lad can play.
Yeah it’s been a bad few years for Liverpool alright but there’s a golden sky ahead.
400k a week is an obscene amount of money though for a player who’s now 30. Especially considering other key performers such as Van Dijk are only on about 220k a week. Mane has been excellent though, 6 brilliant years put down. Be strange seeing him in a Bayern jersey but he’ll be remembered very fondly.
Poor Sadio doesn’t even want to leave, he’s just trying to build a few more schools & hospitals in Senegal. What a guy.
hard to know whats true though. Even a cursory google search on discussions, at the end of May all reports were saying that he was looking for about 200k per week. Then the reports are saying Bayern are offering 330k per week. But yet latter reports are now saying he is demanding 400k from Liverpool. Its this sort of leaks with inflated figures as if to make out that he was being unreasonable when the actual truth is somewhere in the middle. There is no need to sully his name over this, its a good move for him and its a good move for Liverpool. With Jota, Diaz and Nunez, the replacement for Mane is already there and a younger more long term version. And Mane gets his retirement funds in order too by moving.
Sadio will never walk alone
Players are a long time retired. You can’t blame a man who wants one last pay day.
I’ve heard of retired Premier League players who would have played in big money era who have to substantially rein in their lifestyle within ten years of retirement.
Mane is 30, and even if he retains a remarkable fitness, there is no doubt he will decline over the coming years of any new contract he signs.
Which makes that a huge contract for him personally, the biggest he will sign in his football career. Looking at the numbers, Mane was asking for close to £400,000 a week for a four-year deal to stay with Liverpool. That would work out at a total, including bonuses, of around £83m. A staggering amount, but similar to the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, David De Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo in the Premier League.

HAVE YOUR SAY! Will Nunez be a hit at Liverpool? Let us know in the comments section
Bayern Munich are reported to be close to agreeing a three-year deal at around £360,000 per week. Which equates to £56m over the course of the contract. Whilst figures for Darwin Nunez are not yet confirmed by Liverpool, it has been reported in Portugal he will earn €6m a season NET.
That, by calculation, would entail a salary of around £160,000 -£180,000 a week, depending on his tax situation. Which equates, roughly, to around half what Mane will be earning. That would mean over three years, Liverpool will save around £30m on wages alone, by selling Mane and signing Nunez.
