The general election can not come quick enough for us!!

I was talking to a lady I know yesterday, a civil servant, she was banging on about the fear she has for her kid’s future now that SF are on the up— ‘‘I mean, they have blood on their hands’’ I then gently slipped into the conversation that I was a SF supporter and assured her she will be alright… I passed her name onto Maurice Quinlivan immediately.

They got 1072 out of 9463 votes transferred in Dublin West. So they picked up 11.3 % of the transfers as opposed to 20.9 % of the first preferences. In one of the most left wing constituencies in the country. That’s some fall off rate.

I was more referring to constituencies where Socialists will be behind SF. They didn’t get the benefit of transfers from Coppinger because she was ahead of SF. Where there are socialists coming in 6th or 7th and get eliminated, that’s where SF will pick up more votes.
