You aren’t thinking like a crazed mother who’s just seen her child abducted. Nobody knows how they’d react in that situation.
People close the door going for a shite but we all know what they are doing.
Why? It seems like a perfectly reasonable line if enquiry to me even if you didnt suspect the parents. Maybe im missing something
Used happen always 35/40 + year’s ago
You are a suspect. Police investigations are not aimed at finding the “truth”. They are aimed at convicting anybody.
When you go for a shite you close the door even though we all know what you are doing.
I doubt the McCanns killed the child but they’re definitely guilty of leaving them in danger.
Yards maybe
Absolutely.
It was child neglect and if they had been Billy and Tanya from Stoke, the British media would have eviscerated them and social services would have been all over them.
For a few drinks.
That’s not right @artfoley
Actually it might be. I think the whole complex is bigger than that. I seem to recall there was an adults pool nearer the sea. We never went to the tapas bar or the adult pool. I’m pretty sure there was/is a pool higher up the hill for kids where we went. Twas 14 years ago I’d say though.
The McCann’s should have had their other kids taken off them by social services.
And then what? Foster homes, or an orphanage? Don’t be crass. What they did was reckless perhaps, but honestly, I’d say Madeline was more likely to be struck by lightning or eaten by a shark than stolen by a predator from her bed whilst in a sleepy Algarve town. It was just a series of events with a dreadful outcome. A horrible horrible thing.
They have still I’m sure raised and nurtured the other two better than anyone else could possibly have.
They are also extremely brave.
If only the McCanns had contacted TFK to solve this 20 years ago…
My daughter is 17 (same age) as Madeleine would be now and obviously as years went by has been fascinated with the case. As parents I consider it unfathomable what the parents did that night in leaving small children in an apartment. Now we did all the campsites in Spain and France when our 2 were small and were at the shows bars etc but one thing that never ever would have would have crossed our mind would be to venture even a tiny distance without knowing they were safe. I have no idea what happened to the poor child but I can’t get over what they did as parents that night. Plenty may disagree but I cannot understand it all.
I remember when I was a little one the paget s used to bring us with them to bars in evening. Often there were family friendly ones where we could play pool etc. Home by 12 or 1 at the latest. It was the norm among most families.
If it was Billy and Tanya from Stoke, they would have had their kids taken away by social services.
The media would have focused on how the couple went on a “boozy night out” and left their kids unattended.
Completely the British establishment had their back from the start
Just like yon Nanny in the states that time
There is a huge irony here in that she grew up a scouse Catholic in tough Huyton and he grew up a catholic in a council estate in Glasgow as the child of Donegal parents . Both would be outsiders in a way .
In many ways for me their story is remarkable in what they achieved but how were they so lax that evening .
I still have huge sympathy for them but the whole story is mind boggling
