Well of course they are going to say the right things.
Some clubs barely acknowledge when a player has done wrong or the simply fall in behind him.
If you think about that famous treble winning midfield, it’s very disturbing:
- Giggs - cheated on his wife for years with his sister-in-law. domestic abuser.
- Butt - wife-beater
- Beckham - serial adulterer, cross-dresser
- Scholes - sucks his daughter’s toes.
- Blomqvist - Swedish
Roy Keane was actually the sanest of all of them. If only we’d known it then.

Toxic masculinity
The real sad thing here is that we have a crowd of Liverpool fans who appear to be trying to claim that this behaviour is only an issue at one club, albeit they might think they’re having a chuckle or two thanks to a sad situation like this.
Every club needs to reform in relation to how they educate their young playersand, despites all the jokes in the world, there should be a recognition that there’s likely multiple cases of this at all clubs but the victims have been far too scared to come forward.
A bit of cop on wouldn’t go astray.
