Like many successful “businessmen”, Jordan Peterson is a fraud and a gobshite who has, in fairness to him, entirely correctly identified a very gullible target market which he knows he can get very rich off
She tried to justify a 500k salary for 4 hours work at a time of recession. That’s what I would consider poor form. I mentioned these things when she was alive.
If you directly bring in that much then would you deserve it Mike? Her salary was certainly high and RTÉ could have gone lower but I can understand the point in a way.
2fm’s ratings fell off a cliff for example when Gerry Ryan died.
Whether I think she deserved it is irrelevant. It was her attempts to justify it during a recession. She obviously took issue with the questions unlike say Tubridy who I’ve never heard complain about actual pay cuts and who works far longer hours.
Well if you are being attacked then expect a response. Particularly when it is outright lies like you say on the workload. Not sure why hyperbole is needed for making a point by people.
She wasn’t being attacked. The organisation she worked for was haemorrhaging money and hard pressed tax payers were subsidising her salary. Out of all the big earners there, herself and Pat Kenny were the only ones who attempted to justify their salaries iirc. The large listnership was down to the timing of her show and the lack of competition more than the content of the show or her skills as a presenter.
I’ve listened to the full broadcast previously and there was certainly no mopping the floor on either side. JP enters all these discussions as a debate initially, MF tbf to her didn’t really engage at that level knowing or having been warned that she’d be slaughtered. What she did then manage to was implement a patronising tone which kind of disarmed JP which then allowed the interview to conclude in benign fashion.
That’s BS Mike. RTÉ weekends were the graveyard before she started in it. That’s a fact.
There was actually a very good argument that her salary should have been cut when she went from prime time weekly to the weekends, as one of the reasons she moved was because of a drop in listenership. But she did actually draw in a huge audience for the weekends which wasn’t there before.
I can absolutely appreciate the arguments on salary, but use real reasons and not nonsense.
