and one count of producing a traffic bollard capable of inflicting serious injury in a manner likely unlawfully to intimidate a person

Anything is a weapon if you really believe.

The court heard uncontested evidence that Mr Higgins produced two knives during the incident.

Two knives, for when one won’t do. And that was just the victim :see_no_evil:

Now THAT’S Limerick City Kid

I think the victim’s son was also killed in a fight on St. Patrick’s Day a few years ago. Future generations of the line might want to stay in that night.

Accused man was high at time of fatal collision, garda says

A man charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision in Co Limerick was high on cannabis and ā€œfast gasā€ at the time, a court has heard.

Keelan O’Connell (19), of Scanlon Park, Castleconnell, appeared before Limerick District Court yesterday charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Ɓine O’Reilly (33) on February 13th last on the N24 road at Grange West, Boher.

He was also charged with driving without a driving licence and insurance.

Garda Tony Burke told the court he arrested O’Connell at his home on Thursday. He said the accused made no reply after being charged later that evening. The garda objected to bail.

He alleged that O’Connell was driving a ā€œhigh-poweredā€ 2007 Volkswagen Golf at ā€œexcess speedā€ when he attempted to undertake a Peugeot car. He said O’Connell’s car struck the Peugeot and forced it into a collision with O’Reilly’s Nissan Micra.

O’Reilly, a nurse, who was on her way to work at the out-of-hours Shannondoc GP service, suffered ā€œcatastrophic injuriesā€ and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Burke also alleged that O’Connell ā€œfled the scene on footā€ and ā€œfailed to provide assistanceā€ to the other motorists involved. He said O’Connell presented himself to gardaĆ on the day after the crash and admitted being the driver.

Burke alleged O’Connell had also admitted being ā€œunder the influence of cannabis and fast gasā€ at the time of the crash.

Judge Patricia Harney refused bail. She remanded the accused in custody to appear again on March 24th by video-

You probably won’t believe this but in the past 5 years I have taught the brother of that chap from Castleconnell AND the sister of the Faulkner girl from the Birdhill incident.

Not limerick

It is believed she was dragged from her car and viciously attacked by other women armed with weapons.

Limerick Live understands the victim is from the northside of Limerick city.

Probably culture related

The video was gruesome to say the least

It certainly is

There’s a video in my Whatsapp and I’m not going to open it. There is going to be absolute war over this. It could be the tipping point for this kind of barbaric fueding antics. Joe Duffy will be missing it this week.
