You’d feel sorry for college aged kids holed up in a suburb of Limerick,
Is there a worse college in the country for socialising?
Absolutely not.
A sad day for the wolf pack.
Ah you’re well off the mark there. I’d say there’s scarcely a better college in the country for socialising. You’d see lads who went up to the big Dublin colleges get lost in the crowd and rely purely on friends from home for social occasions. In UL you’d make friends so easily, reasonably small courses and great vibes around the campus. There’s a small percentage in College Court that give the rest a bad name.
Literally the best thing about UL is that all the students live in one suburb.
Them apes will be in trouble. The filming it is as stupid as random acts of destruction. Probably Public Admin students
Shur students hardly go out ffs. The best part of being a student is rolling in and out of different gaffs
All the smaller towns like limerick and cork were much better for college socialising than anywhere in Dublin
I thrun a mattress out the upstairs window of our home house once. No big deal
The response you’d expect from UL alumni in fairness to you
If you don’t know any better you’ll think it’s great, away from home etc
But at the end of the day you’re stuck in Castletroy ![]()
Seen the video now
Not great in fairness, quite a few identifiable kids in there,
KINGS OF COLLEGE COURT, fuckin wasters
Are ye going to post up the link or article or video of what ye’re on about at all?
if only there was some mechanism that allowed people travel to a place 3 miles away ![]()
I’m sure that the 304 is also part of the ‘appeal’ ![]()
Often cycled into town for a pair of tackies from the mean streets of Milford Grange
in the halcyon days you’d no need to go into town as the Mary I wans who’d already been left disappointed by @Kyle came out to the Lodge in search of a proper seeing to from the future Captains of Industry
Like our grid City, we’re way ahead of the rest of Ireland. Most US colleges for example are outside City centres in self contained settings. The old tan colleges in Ireland like Queens University Cork were built in affluent protestant and dissenter areas that are close to the city centre today. With their Queens colleges and Lord Mayors - that was not a model to follow.
I know the Dublin college scene too and Limerick is much more social and welcoming. Not even a biased view, UCD is further out of town than UL and has more than twice the population. I can assure you that you’d make more friends in UL. Maybe the craic is too good and lads completely lose the run of themselves altogether as seen in that video. When I was in UL you’d go into Icon and recognise or know half the club. That’s not happening in Dublin.
I wonder what the reaction to this would be if it was ‘working class’ youngsters from Garryowen or Moyross doing the the vandalism and not little Johnny and Tommy from detached countryside abodes with island kitchens.
College court is the envy of college students in Ireland.
They come from all over for the house parties.
Very few student estates left so in cities like Dublin your neighbours are highly unlikely to be students.
A lot of the students in Dublin are living with Mammy and Daddy or commuting in from surrounding towns and aren’t fully let off the leash
