I’m around since the early 80s and it was well closed then.
I’d say late 70s it closed.
Yeah? I was swimming in there regularly in 87/88 … Probably later too.
No way, @bod95 will be on shprtly to tell us. Maybe even @LionelRitchie was old enough to remember it. @glasagusban is too young.
I’m telling you straight I was in there in the latter half of the 80s… I’d tip around the back of Ryan’s hotel afterwards and skin a few orchards after leaving the pools.
No wonder the cunt stopped posting here… He knew this programme was due to be televised.
@chocolatemice vindicated. The hero Limerick needs but aren’t getting.
Was well gone by 82 tops…@chocolatemice probably broke in for a paddle in his timeline before he plundered the orchards on the leafy NCR
Does anyone remember the Corbally baths? Basically a concrete pool off the Shannon I was in there as a kid alright.
You’re on drugs… the Ennis road public pools were open until around 1991
There’s fuck all there lad but there’s a few nice walks for the kids
They’re in awful way these days. Never properly looked after unfortunately.
Curraghchase?
It’s a fabulous spot, what more could you have besides a place to swim.
I’ve consulted with a few of my contemporaries and the consensus is the early 80s…case closed.
I know well you’re sending out a text now. You’re wrong tho, yourself and @habanerocat are way out. We used to walk over from Delmedge park and get Mr freezes in Caherdavin and onto the pools. We went every year for about 3 years in around 87-90
You are all on drugs…
Thank you. I am 100% right here.
I’m fairly sure the pool was there until the late 80s, and possibly into 90/91.
