Shannon airport will be the first thing to go mate. I’d say it isn’t 10m above sea level.
Askeaton already floods down by the river every winter, has done since time immemorial. The town itself is actually up hill both sides from the river as evidenced by the drop from the bypass bridge down to the water. The houses along the quays would be gone alright, but most of them are derelict anyway, the swimming pool would be the major casualty but sure with all the flooding who’ll need a pool.
Foynes would be in big trouble, it’s basically all artificially reclaimed afaik. They’ll be retreating up the hills of shanagolden.
Ballysteen and Pallas will be gone. Adare Manor will be destroyed as well, but JP will probably get permission to divert the flow into Croom or something instead.
The city would be in a bad way, South Circular Road and North Circular road will be facing each other across the river as islands and the rest of the city will be below water. One way of cleaning up the city I guess.
We need to start morkeshing it as a Venice type tourist attraction now.
