Would prefer some more height in there. Good opportunity for Hugh Pat McGeary who was supposed to have formed very well when he came in, some good options on the bench in any case.
Sean cacanagh has made over 200 Tyrone appearances? That can’t be right.
Includes McKenna Cup and League games.
That’s some going when did he make his debut?
Peter Donnelly has apparently resigned from his role as Tyrone S&C coach. Not sure of the reasons but he’s extremely highly regarded and would look to be a loss, hope it can be sorted out.
Thats what happens when you leave a woman in charge.
Didn’t see last night’s game but have it recorded and will give it a watch tomorrow.
On the face of it, great result for us as we always seem to find Derry a tough nut to crack. From reading reports of the game, it sounds like Richie Donnelly had a stormer and Ronan O’Neill is beginning to step up and may be the answer to a reliable free taker.
It’s clear Harte is really pushing O’Neill this season, he’s started all four league games and completed the 70 in the last three.
Peter Donnelly was also meant to have taken the warm up before the game last night so hopefully thins are sorted on that end.
What we seem to have added this year is a genuine competition for places which wasn’t really there last year.
Provisional starting XV for Championship opener v Derry:
- Morgan
- McCrory
- McNamee
- McCarron
- R Brennan
- Justy
- T McCann
- C Cavanagh
- R Donnelly
- M Donnelly
- Harte
- Meyler
- McCurry
- S Cavanagh
- McAliskey
The bolded players obviously being assured starters in fit and in form. Bradley, Lee Brennan, HP McGeary, Ronan O’Neill, Sludden, Kieran McGeary, McShane and McNulty will be pushing hard for starting spots as well. As strong as we’ve been since 08 and hopefully the returns of the likes of Joe McMahon and possibly McNabb will push it even moreso.
Peter Donnelly has returned to his coaching role with Tyrone after settling a dispute with county board officials.
Tyrone’s Strength and Conditioning coach handed in a letter of resignation to the board last week, but it is understood that differences between the two parties have since been resolved ahead of the Red Hands’ league meeting with Meath on Sunday.
The news comes as a major boost to Tyrone boss Mickey Harte, as well as the county’s U21 footballers, whom Donnelly also works with, ahead of their Ulster championship quarter-final against Cavan next Wednesday.
“I never considered that he was away,” Harte told the Irish Daily Star.
“I am not party to politics of the game. I just think that Peter Donnelly is a wonderful asset to this county and I hope he stays there for a long, long time.”
Time for Tyrone to get that woman back making tae and sandwiches
Today’s win against Meath actually sealed mathematically sealed promotion with Cavan and Galway still to meet.
Ronan O’Neill continued his good form which is encouraging although he seemed to pick an injury up near the end, hopefully it’s nothing serious as it would be wonderful to see fulfill his potential.
So far, so good. The new lads seem to be impressing but there is not a lot that can be read into the league.
Great two part interview with Horse Devlin in the Irish News.

No McCurry in the 26, really seems to be struggling for form at the min - not sure if he’s injured.
Tyrone at 1/2. I’m struggling to pick holes in them. What’s the mood like around Galway?
