Missing People In Ireland
There was some remembrance day for missing Irish people today, these stories fascinate me where someone disappears never to be seen again. It’s surely worse than the person dying for the people left behind, the not knowing must be a killer. Anyway one story struck me as interesting. The mother of this lad spoke. Basically to summarise the story, he hasn’t been seen since 2009. He had been on holidays around Europe and traveling on a train in France at the time. He rang his mother and girlfriend daily (had three small kids at home). He rang the girlfriend anyway this one evening and was fairly distressed, saying he had just seen a shooting on a train and was after getting off the train in Perpignan. He said he needed to charge his phone as it was about to go dead etc and that he’d get back to her, but they never heard from him again. French authorities did concede that they found him in a very distressed state in a station, brought to a hospital to spend the night but he checked out the day after, again they didn’t hear anything from him since. It seems pretty unbelievable the scant media coverage it received. His mother was saying the police didn’t help much and the media weren’t helping to get the story out there. It’s obvious he witnessed something he shouldn’t have and was also taken out in a possible James Bond secret service type episode. Judge for yourselves, i found this link online but i summarised the main parts.

thats a strange one alright. But I’d say the chap had issues rather than being taken out James Bond style. There was no records at all of any fight or disturbance on the train, never mind someone being shot or killed. He left behind 2 kids, and his pregnant girlfriend to go travelling in Europe on his own. And Police brought him to a hospital because he was in a distressed state. You’d want to be fairly distressed for police to bring you to a hospital themselves.

Cops are going to dig an area around Portlaoise for Fiona Pender at the weekend.

RTE reporting that the main suspect was involved in a relationship with an Irish woman abroad. He apparently visited this area on many trips home with her including threatening her in the location on occasions.

If ever something fell into the lap of the cops.

Where’d you see that Farmer? I read something about it earlier but it had none of those details.

@myboyblue I assume from reading between the lines the main suspect has been mentioned by name in a lot of reports?

You wouldn’t exactly need to be Matlock to figure this one out.

The investigation team has now identified an area of woodland outside Portlaoise.
It is believed the suspect went to the area a number of times on visits home and brought his partner to the area and threatened her there.

Absolutely no idea to be honest.

that a gutsy call pal…great investigative work…

You got me there alright. I think that particular famine could soon be ending though

Gussie’s case was featured on CrimeCall this evening. Still no sign.

I remember seeing this poor old fella’s case featured on Crime Call. His body has been found. Closure for the family at least.

he went missing in Finglas and left his phone and wallet behind and was found dead in Blackpool in England? Thats a very strange outcome. At least as you say they have some closure now on it all.

I’m guessing he entered the sea in Dublin and washed up in Blackpool.

Hmmmmm. Did he wash up in Blackpool or what? How long was he dead I wonder.
I’m going to speculate that he was diagnosed with a terminal illness just said fuck it and went on a cocaine, hookers and rollercoaster binge in Blackpool.

They’ve had his body since August but only identified it this week

Yeah but he still went out to put his bins out in finglas and managed to fall into the irish sea?
