I can confirm this.
I was actually playing club soccer with him at the time. All he told us was heād be missing for a few games because heād made the āIrish 5-a-side teamā and he was off to Brazil with them. Your man was an average to bad soccer player so lads were very suspicious. A couple of weeks later someone spotted his name in a news report on the Homeless World Cup.
I think he played in some sort of street soccer league in the city at one stage, but he was definitely never homeless.

A variation on the Spanish wheelchair basketball team a good few years back all of whom* could run and walk and stuff and were decent club players apparently. They were like āsure nobody said we needed to rely on wheelchairs to get around all the time.ā

Some of the consultants had been doing so much private work they āowedā the HSE time. So lot of them now being forced to prioritise public list until the thing is balanced out.

2 referrals needed for one scan and 48 hrs to check each referral and all because it said scan lower back and not specifically s.i joint even tho that was impliedā¦ This is a private company that just do scans and not even the mess that is the HSE.
I washed and ironed my best jocks n all ahead of the scan tonight.
I suppose you only become fully aware when it happens to you.
There is a consultant here being investigated now for apparently seeing private patients on public time and taking hand outs on getting bumped up the list.
I would say the government are terrified to actually investigate anything its so rotten.

No you cant blame the current government for the current mess but you can get bet that members of the current government are not up to reforming the health service because the current situation suits them. If they really wanted to address it they could, what nurse or doctor wants to work in the conditions they are currently working in, If the government went in with a real plan to sort the place out they would get the support but instead they just keep shrugging their shoulders and keeping things the same
I donāt think itās a question of the situation suiting them. Itās more a question of nother wanting to get involved as it just seems like too much work and itās a ministry that noone wants
