I was on board with @smark until the brick. 6 does seem hefty for a guy with no convictions. Sounds like he had a shit lawyer. If Nally can get off on self defence then Paddy got rightly screwed.
took a half day as my kid has the sniffles, all my energy is directed towards getting another hours sleep, everything i suggest that would facilitate this has been soundly rejected
Iām absolutely wrecked here today. If I got one hour sleep last night that was the most of it. Lying in bed thinking of Paddy going to jail for six years and his last few days of freedom and what would I do if it was me. I donāt know if I could handle it tbh. Could you get your head down and slog it out for 6 years? Heāll be just under 40 coming out of there so heās still young enough but I just think itāll ruin him. He wouldnāt be cut out for it. Its like your man in Oz going in day one and he got ate up.

If Paddy is of no threat to anyone he will more than likely be moved to an open prison within 6 months and be home every couple of weekends

add to that if he has any skills or education and esp any bit of get up and go about him they will make use of him.
he will have it fine and handy id say and will proably end up teaching the scum how to do menial tasks such as reading and writing or making jigsaws

If he is a tradesman he will be working 9 to 5 most weeks with a local contractor.
Maybe he could even convince the Governor of the Prison to allow him and his friends to tar the roof of a building, thereby earning themselves some cold beers.
