The defendants in the Anabelâs trial were hardly likely to have kicked somebody to death outside a nightclub again.

Funny how some people are all big into law and order and punishing people for crimes they commit and all that yet can go all bleeding heart lefty liberal on things when it suits them. Hypocrites of the highest order.

Iâd love to see the reactions to the scenario if:
a). Paddy was a traveller
b). The victim was a traveller
Hold on a minute Paddyâs case is different to the Annabels case where 3-4 lads beat the living shit out of one defenceless young fella who subsequently died in hospital after. Paddyâs case was clearly shaped by a past altercation in his life where he was the victim.
The chap he was âassaultingâ here actually had previous convictions for something or other himself where Paddy hadnât and since the incident has had another run in with the law, i think it was drink driving.
Iâm not defending what he did. I just find him exceedingly unlucky, heâs not a bad guy or a scumbag and due to bad luck his life is now fucked. Had he went for a piss or had another pint in the pub that night he never would have ran into your man in the footpath. There was a group of five of them in the pub, if one of them had even said âhold on Paddy iâll get a taxi with you in 10mins after finishing thisâ then it wouldnât have happened either. So many what ifs.
If paddy was a traveller then jail,if the victim was a traveller then paddy should be awarded freedom of the city or some such equivalent

Iâd have sympathy for a lad getting in a row pissed and hurting a fella badly by accident if it was a one off thing. However picking up a brick and smashing some lad with it is a different story altogether.
