Munster Rugby - We DID start the fire (Part 1)

I wasnā€™t at the 78 homecoming but my father (whoā€™s a Kilkenny man) was and according to him the booing for Cody when his name was called out was audible.

If you ever drove from Limerick to Cork youā€™d know that 60 miles can feel like 600.

Passing through the likes of Buttevant, Charleville, Rourkes Cross etc is absolutely horrendous.

At peak times you can actually be 20 mins getting out of Buttevant itself not to mind if theirs a crash on the road which there normally is.

Looks like the wheels have finally come off the Munster bandwagon. The Brave & Faithful are already planning their intineries for France next summer.

Buttevant and Charleville are awful shit holes. Once you get over the border into Limerick it is a lovely drive.,

A most enjoyable night mate, apart from the rugby which was absolute gash to watch.

The hooker couldnā€™t throw, the kicker couldnā€™t kick, none of them could tackle and they kept knocking it on.
The obsession with kicking the ball away is bizarre. Never have I seen a team so happy to concede possession. Iā€™ll never get it. The only comparison I can think of is the long ball in football which is fairly antiquated at this stage.
At one stage a Munster lad broke through and was one on one with the Leicester tackler, instead of trying to run away from him he ran straight at him and tried to steam roll him :joy: Bizarre.

The place was only about 3/4ā€™s full and the best fans in the World left in their droves before the games end.

They also jeered Keatley, which in fairness was well deserved. I reckon Iā€™m better than him at rugby.

Iā€™ve been telling my friends for the past year that if it was my full time job to kick the ball over the bar Iā€™d be better at it than Keatley.

If their isnā€™t a player in Munster better at kicking the ball than him then all rugby clubs should be disbanded.

Was there not an option to stay in the corporate area and drink without having to watch that shite? Whatā€™s Thomond like for corporate entertainment? Iā€™ve never been to it.

Average. No Croke Park anyway.

ROG had started twisting the knife before the game. Not helping but his mental frailties are there to see for a long time.

As i said before this going back to ā€œthe old munster wayā€ was severly mis-guided.

I see them as similar to the Cork hurlers. Not as bad as they look and need a different approach.

Read that alright, he wrote something along the lines that he couldnā€™t believe that Munster had let JJ Hanrahan go as it was not like Dan Carter was the present incumbent at outhalf.

This appeared in the Examiner the day before the match!

They didnā€™t let him go though. There was a large financial issue at play, combined with game time. Munster have been fucked financially for sometime.

It warms me to see this thread bumped.

The spelling mistake in the title is quite tragic however.

I heard during his last season when he wasnā€™t getting game time he made an appointment with Foley to discuss his future at the club. He was waiting to meet Foley for coffee as agreed, Foley never turned up.

Foley was told back Kearly cos he was cheaper. Its that simple.

It sounds like you have some inside information?
