Munster Rugby - We DID start the fire (Part 1)

He was starting for ulster in a Heineken cup final while hanrahan was second choice for the Ireland 20s. You are bluffing.

Haha. Ok soz I thought you were serious for a minute. My bad. Carry on.

Yeah. They arguably scrape into the top 8 to 12 in Europe. Consistent but haven’t threatened winning anything.

And by your rationale they should just stay there, not try to improve a massive area of weakness in the team. Ok.

What’s wrong with this? Hanrahan was streets ahead of Jackson for Ireland u20s.

If Jackson had been in Munster would he have had the same opportunities to develop as a player?

Jackson started ahead of hanrahan for the Ireland under 20s ffs.

Gutted for Keats.

Murray was pretty much always a 9. We also needed another 9 in the system at that point.

More chances at kicking though certainly.

Andrew Burke at that agegroup was highly rated, starting with Murray at halfback initially at 19s/20s ahead of Madigan and McKinley.

I know as I said he was kept their for that reason but he is a lovely open field runner, brilliant passer and kicker and has savage temperament. Hindsight is great but I’d say he’d have been a brilliant ten.

The best 9 in the world should have been forced to move to 10!

You couldn’t make it up. Classic AppleBumbled.

You’d try to cut him some slack but he makes it so fucking hard

He could have been the best ten in the world possibly. Much easier find a suitable 9 than a 10. It is also a more key position. I’d rather a world class 10 and a average 9 than a world class 9 and a average 10. You still have not acknowledged that Paddy Jackson was starting ahead of JJ Hanrahan for the Ireland under 20s when you claimed JJ was a much better player.

If we started logging these Bumbleisms it could rival the People Kev Knows thread in time to come.

Start the thread.

They have nobody coming thru anywhere near ready.

One year of Keatly or one of Carbery?

I know which I take.

And maybe TB gets back fit

Munster went looking for this.

But ypu make some good points but I think they have options now. He may well end up at 15 as well. But ypu cannot have Keatly anymore

It is a two year deal and his points about development are horse poo. Munster have given Jonny Holland, Keatley, Tyler and JJ various chances over the last five years.

Munster have backed Keatly way beyond needed

Ah that’s a proper deal so.

I was only going on what ye said about 1 year tbh.

What do lads want so?

2 years is about normal enough contract

What they did was go for the “safer” option. Rather than picking hanrahan, who most people would have said had way more talent and potential but was unproven and liable to make mistakes, they went for keatley on “you know what you’ll get” basis.

I.e. they never backed hanrahan.
