Great point on the two younger lads. Youād also wonder how Munster expect to close the gap to Leinster by signing a second rate players.
All along the arguement was that the academy isnāt producing the quality of players, that has now changes. These are being blocked by sub standard forgein players. Remember when Stephen Moore was supposed to sign for munster and it was blocked as it will prevent IQ players coming through?
And he was a player that would have actually had an impact. Itās the front two they need to recruit in. Think they should have gotten zebo back too.
Letting zebo go was a disaster. Especially when you look at Tommy bowe getting the central contract goes back to the argument about how they are awarded based on the age profile and miles on the clock. A more glaring argument than Ryan/Heslip
He nearly signed twice. I know Stephen through a good pal and Gaffney nearly signed him long before his ex school coach McGahan tried to get him. He hadnāt played for wallabies at that point and was Irish qualified.

Gerry Thornley alluded to his hurling prowess today. Said it stood him in good stead as a rugby player as it made him as tough as oak and very good under the high ball.
Iām not so sure about that at all. Iād much rather be playing rugby in France than being 3rd choice for Munster.
Heād probably have got Cork over the line against Clare in 2013, on both days.

He needs a bit of luck with injuries but there isnāt too many lads getting long term contracts in rugby anyway.
