Munster Rugby - We DID start the fire (Part 2)

Nah heā€™s always given away loads of penalties and all through games.

Allowing Leinster sign another prop makes sense when stop consider how many minutes furlong and porter are forced to play for province and for Leinster and likely lions too.

Slimani replacing another niq player which wasnā€™t meant to be allowed either.

Because he has a heart conditionā€¦he was banned/excluded from playing in France because of it ā€¦he didnā€™t play for a full season and then he went to Bristol last season but Iā€™d say they were paying him fuck allā€¦he is gone from them anyway but Iā€™d say itā€™s a massive gamble to sign him (for him and the club!)

This is the issue with the lack of municipal stadiums in Ireland and yet we persist with existing policy.

The latest idea for the Irish government to give even more money to the GGA for Casement makes absolutely no sense.

Developing an existing site for municipal use makes perfect sense

It will be given over for a few Euros games and the GGA will retain ownership.

I see Felix Jones has come to his senses, the traitorous fuck

It would make way more sense to move a shit game to Cork. Theyā€™ll get a big crowd in with the novelty factor as seen with the friendlies.

No point moving your sellout games.

Take one of the Mickey mouse games thatā€™ll have 10k people in Thomond bring it down to Cork and get 30k plus.

Iā€™d say youā€™d need to sell it out to make it even marginally profitable

Any idea how much rent they charge?
Seriously, if the govt supported the redevelopment, they should sort of insist tbh.
Whatever way you look at it, a sizeable number of citizens enjoy rubby.

Said costs 300k to hold a game there the rent is surely half of that cost at least

Cork GAA near crippled themselves realising Frankā€™s vision, while Munster used their money to pad out a few South African pensions. The State seem to have contracted out their responsibilities to the physical wellbeing of the youth to the GAA, with limited success looking at the shape of much of the population. Nonetheless the return they get on what they give the GAA is fairly substantial, by all accounts the extent of PE in schools in the south is atrocious and the GAA are left to pick up much of the slack.

Is PE much better in the North?

Iā€™m not entirely familiar with the situation in the south but from what I hear Iā€™d say so, which is why so much of the burden of winning Olympic medals falls on us. Reasonable facilities in primary school, full athletics track at secondary school.

What facilities would your local primary and secondary schools have?

Iā€™m not arguing with you because I think the PE in primary schools here is often a disgrace, just interested

Primary school has a large indoor hall with wooden floor for basketball, netball, indoor hockey etc. Also climbing ladders and climbing ropes, which separated the men from the boys. Various partly funded coaches would come in 2-3 times a week to cover the shortcomings of the class teacher.
At secondary school 3 Gaelic pitches, a 4G Gaelic pitch, and an athletics track owned and rented by the Council which kept us in shape. Itā€™s not just our accents that the southern girls go weak for.

I think PE in secondary schools down here isnā€™t so bad, though obviously youā€™d have bad teachers.
Thatā€™s obviously a massive school with 4 GAA pitches.

Would that be a full sized basketball court on the primary school? I donā€™t know many primary schools here with a full size court, Ennis has one

It is. Acts as the assembly hall, Christmas performance hall, fairs hall etc. But on standard school day itā€™s the basketball court and gym. Secondary school has less than 900 pupils, all boys admittedly.
