Surely a bit of introspection needed from Waterford after that tho. 100% the wrong call on the goal, but after playing 14 men for 20 mins of the second half, being up by ten points, how they managed to fuck it away. And they were still ahead after the phantom goal and 15 more minutes were played.
Iām not a believer of they were robbed stuff. They had the game in spite of a shit ref making shit calls. 2 points for the last 20 minutes of play with a man extra is crap.
It was the lack of defensive options from the subs bench that really killed Waterford today in the closing stages after losing Darragh Fives, Barry Coughlan and Tadhg de Burca for the year. They needed some fresh legs in a tiring defence with both Noel Connors and Austin Gleeson playing through injuries as well but there was simply little or nothing to throw on.
Yeah in fairness to ye all those hard won All Irelands ye won after negotiating the mean fields of the Connacht hurling championship. Yeāve won one All Ireland since ye rejoined provincial Hurling?
I know youāre fishing, but despite his 2 hero shots that went wide and then the debatable one at the end and of course him being the one caught for the goal, there were a lot of Waterford players who hid for the last 20 mins of that match. Things didnāt go Aussies way, but if nothing else, at least he was still getting on the ball and trying to revive them
I thought he was very poor in patches. Regardless of the umpire getting it wrong he should have caught that ball and not given the little geriatric Galway cunt a decision to make. Plus I thought he gave away three frees when Tipp were coming back into it, and hit three wides in the same period. Granted one of the frees the preening little Galway cunt riffing the match wouldnāt have given against anyone else.
Three of those all irelands won after beating the leinster and munster champions, much harder won that the dross that existed in the provinces plenty years. Not to mention the antrim semi. You are still smarting over September it seems, you were fairly cock sure before it, time heals wounds.
No Iām merely pointing out that three of those wins involved winning one match to get to the final and since that system was abandoned 21 years ago, Galway have won the grand total of 1 All Ireland.
