Munster Senior Hurling Championship 2018

Listening to Mick church on tippfm now and you could see a swagger in his step. I can see us beating Cork by at least a point a man.

Must be a new type of radio you have?

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Iā€™m not sure which is better beating tipp or seeing all these pricks absolutely bricking it after the mauling they got.

Itā€™s a funny one. The lads who have made the team early are lads who either didnā€™t go to 3rd level immediately after secondary school like Noel Mc, Bonnar, Paudie, Callinan or else lads who went to college in Limerick like Brendan Maher, John Mc and Ronan Maher.

Lads who moved further away were slow developers like James Barry and Dan McCormack. Other lads went to Dublin and moved off the scene like Paddy Murphy of Nenagh or Tom Fox in Waterford.

We were blessed with that golden generation of minors from 06/07. Their time is coming to an end now though. We have been competitive at underage without winning a whole pile but are struggling to produce hurlers similar to that 06/07 vintage. John Mc and Ronan are the only 2 that come close and they are brothers of lads on those teams.

I feel it really is the role of the 21s manager to facilitate these lads. I remember hearing Kiely was excellent at this when he was with the Limerick 21s.

As you already stated, their seems to be an arrogance within the county in parts that there will always be hurlers. The dominance of Sars isnā€™t helping either. The county championship isnā€™t as competitive like every other tier 1 hurling county.

I watched this back last night. Clare must have been scratching their heads when they werenā€™t in clear daylight at half time. They could very easily have had 3 or 4 goals scored. Over-complicated it a few times when the goal was on, with the final pass not coming off. Iā€™m a fan of David Reidy, has plenty of pace and an eye for the express route to goal, but once matched for that pace he was swallowed up by Cork defenders fairly easily after carving them open a couple of times. Credit to Cork, they have that pace to recover, but they looked fairly ropey with Clare playing some lovely ball in front of Oā€™Donnell in particular only for Clare to squander much of it. Cork pretty much got a score from every chance and even a couple of half-chances that they got in the first period.

Was a bit surprised that Duggan was hooked. Thereā€™s a big, big gap in quality between, say, the first 12-15 players for Clare and the bench. It will cause them more grief as the competition goes on.

Gleeson and Mahony likely to miss Sunday for Waterford

Who?

Clare have an awful habit of looking for routes to goal, as in the most complicated possible, when they could have just tapped it over the bar.

Who?

Gleeson and Mahony

say it all goes horribly wrong sunday and Tipp are heading to be out of the hurling by early June and the footballers are heading for the Super 8s , is there many hurlers might take up the footie or theoretically could boost the footballers

heck if Tipp win sat night and lose sunday afternoon, just switch over then and be done with it, chase the munster football title rather than the hurling

Whatā€™s the shite with Maurice always wearing number 21? Heā€™s picked to start so give him number 15.
Am I right in saying that Mahony always wears 20 as well?

Ha ha, just made the same point

Would have been minor in 2011/2012; was centre-back on the 2012 minor team when TDB was full-back.

Presume he played a bit in the League, didnā€™t really pay attention to Waterford as they clearly didnā€™t give a fuck.
