Munster Senior Hurling Championship 2018

As I said, not a melee

Type that again in Caps in case it still flies over his thick head.

Iā€™d consider what happened after Moranā€™s dunt to be a melee, it was a perfect illustration of what Willie Barrett described but you can take what you wish from it

Lads holding Moran back while no other shoulders or strikes happen?

Exactly. There is no melee and if Moran stayed away there isnt one. Moranā€™s is the instigator and gave the ref the opportunity to send him off. It was utterly brainless and needless for him to get involved

Huh? How is he giving the ref an opportunity to send him off if there is no melee

Try hard still swinging I see.

He ran 15 yards to take a man out which instigated a melee. He was responsible and paid the price.

Itā€™s starting to look like you didnā€™t see what happened afterwards, there was a hape of belts given out

He is trying to be a fucking dipstick & doing it well.

A precedent has been set here. If this is a red card there wonā€™t be a match finish 15 v 15 all summer

Why werenā€™t the players who actually hit the slaps sent off for ā€œcontributing to a meleeā€?

Maybe the ref didnt get a clear view if it due to all the bodies. He certainly got a clear view of Moran running 15 yards to drop Kelly which made it cut and dried

just leave the two lads at it, like they do in hockey on ice

Ah ya sure thatā€™s how marty and Rte got Davy out of financial trouble

He is absolutely painful to deal with by all accounts. No scrupals but no problem being an ass to everyone else

The referees are under instruction to red card players for this type of offence. In this regard, Moran can have no complaints.

However, when we get to the semi-finals and final such incidents will be ignored.

Itā€™s all in the rule mate, special attention on the third man in, Iā€™m trying to be civil here but youā€™re making it hard

Its a fairly calm chat mate, not sure why you have to try so hard to be civil

  1. There is apparently no reference to third man in in the rules
  2. Moran is not third man in, he is second man in. Kelly and Ryan had one bit of contact and Ryan had already moved on
  3. After this, it remains calm with lads just holding each other back
  4. The ā€œmeleeā€ is instigated about 10 seconds later by two simpleton hurley/waterboys having a shouldering competition

If Kelly stands on his two feet after taking the shoulder - rather than playing dead on the ground - does the ref send Moran off?

I very much doubt it.

Oh sorry, so Kelly giving it back verbally to the WD player caused the water carriers to start shouldering each other.
I missed that bit watching Moran charge into Kelly.
