Agreed if they spread our backs we are in untold trouble. All depends on the six forwards working like dogs to ensure ball played out is under pressure which to be fair is what they have been doing all year.
Looking at the teams, Iād still fancy us.
Iām sure Cork will try and move our backs all over the place, thatās what they try to do. And obviously we will need to deal with Nashās puckouts, allowing him to hit a runner deep in our half would be an utter disaster. But we know all this, Kiely knows this, everyone doesā¦ how it will all play out is a different matter. Cork have to worry about us too.
Our half-forward line is absolutely key, I think and thatās where the winning or losing of the game will be. Conlon ran riot for Clare, John McGrath was allowed to float around and pick off scores for Tipp, while Noel was also influential. I donāt think Joyce is playing well at the moment and can be targeted. Iād be getting Hegarty to take him on time and time again. Then Kyle to shut Coleman down; you stop good ball going into the forwards and it favours the backs, movement or not. And tbh, I fancy our backs going toe-to-toe as long as the matchups are right.
Itāll be an interesting tactical battle, Iām sure itāll be a decent game but Iād have no fear of that Cork team. Donāt think the week off will have done them any harm, I think we also have the better bench so Iād expect the win by 3 or 4.
