They seemed good in the league (albeit the slightly easier section). If they Conlon, McGrath, Galvin and Duggan theyād be much more dangerous. Feels like the golden generation wonāt be winning the second all-Ireland though.

The golden generation is gone - only 4 starters from 2013 today. Itās a complete rebuild and the problem is our secretary brought his cronies in to take over minor and 21 teams from 2013 to 2016 meaning that the lads we have aged between 22 and 25 are not of the requisite standard. We have plenty of talent between 17 and 21 but they take time to come through and some will fall away but there is raw talent coming through but it is very hard to see us being at the business end of any championship with our current executive who continually penny pinch and make a balls of everything they lay a hand on.

Pity Anthony Daly didnāt get the job again this time. I really think heād have done well there. A fair chunk of the 2013 team gone but the likes of Conor McGrath still have plenty left to give surely? The manner in which ye were flying in 2018 at full strength shows what ye are capable of with a full hand. Duggan alone would contribute massively to that forward line.

McGrath is definitely not up to the standard anymore based on his club form of last few years, has lost a few yards of pace due to injuries and just isnāt the same unfortunately.
The secretary doesnāt like Daly so he is persona non grata. If he was wanted he would definitely take the minors or 20s let alone the seniors. Instead he is frozen out. Lohan only got the gig by pure pig headedness and a refusal to be bullied by the board who tried a stroke to keep him out. Of course since getting the gig he hadnāt received anywhere near the funding or support needed.

Itās mad, I didnāt see it before it and definitely canāt see it now. Heās just not that type off player. Imo he should be in the forwards but looked good in the half back line against kk
