Semple looked a sea of red on the tv. The Carkies fancied it from the off
Waterford dominated a lot of that but you don’t deserve to win anything when you cough up the goals they did today.
It was a 65 at the end but the umpire had no idea. He guessed and thankfully for him he guessed right. as you said, it should have been dealt with in routine fashion.
Ye will trouble Limerick next week for sure… How much is in the tank after today is a the question tho. They’ll have to tear into Limerick for the full 75 mins .
I assume that if the officials had admitted they wouldn’t see it then the ref would have to throw it in. From where though
It was a total guess. Just a lucky one. The linesman couldn’t get a line ball call right another time. Four officials barely competent doing little.
They’d be better off putting boards around the pitch like ice hockey
Seems like every big match I’ve been to in the last few years has ended up with large crowds in the pitch
If we find the form we are capable of, yes.
He did but he had tracked a run from a Clare player to end up there.
Chastening day for Tipperary hurling supporters in Semple today.
On the pitch we are at an all time low in both codes, in the stands our support is up there with KK as the worst and in the boardroom we seem to be behind our counterparts, an example being our dour finances.
I txt one of my friends at half time and said we were going to be hammered, it turned out to be that. We were relying on accuracy from crumbs during that first half.
The modern game is a horrible watch and it is one Tipperary simply have not adapted to. It’s all about possession, Cork players all have legs able to take 8 steps and run past our players who are playing 2010 style hurling. We don’t have the athleticism to play fast like cork or strong like limerick thus our Goose is cooked from the off.
I’d have huge resentment of any Tipperary team going playing a sweeper/+1. It’s not us. We played 3 across the middle with Tynan in the middle yet Barrett could constantly get on ball in the 11 pocket. The likes of GOC, Noel & Forde don’t have any legs to play this game.
I couldn’t blame our management too much but Morris needs to be inside & Bowe is not a back. the reality is we don’t have them and some of our players that should be stepping up are not (O Mara, Morgan, GOC, Bowe), some of them lads are simply not good enough (Tynan, C Stakelum, Connolly) and others are either doing alright or over the hill.
2029 is creeping ever closer, it will basically be dependant on Euan Murray et al.
It’s tough to watch your team getting paddled routinely. I’m sure you’ll get used to it.
I don’t enjoy possession based hurling with throws and steps x100 per game and 70 shots per game but it is what it is.
Tipperary throw as much as anyone else.
The development squads have closed the field and everyone has moved with the times
Every player fought on their back today. That’s all you can ask for really. Under the cosh for long periods, get back into it and cough up a stupid goal. Maybe one or two decisions didn’t go our way, but we live to fight another day.
Old style knockout next week. Win or go home!
Tipperary throw as much as anyone else
They definitely do throw but not as much as other teams. The third Cork goal today was a total joke but many modern coaches/analysts think that’s good for the game. Tipperary wouldn’t win any form of hurling game currently but the modern game definitely does not suit our style which is based on “hurling” the ball.

A draw will do for both teams. Just sayin like
Davy is just a hindrance to a pretty useful group of Waterford hurlers kicking on and achieving something.
The poor game management in coughing up a 4 point injury time lead to possibly the worst Tipperary team ever who’ve just lost to Limerick by 15 points and to Cork by 18 points and in the concession of so many truly appalling goals today has been alluded to.
This is a fairly experienced group of Waterford players. A good sprinkling were part of a minor/U21 All Ireland winning team of 2013/2016 and played in 2020 All Ireland Final. A few played in 2017 final. They were touted by many as second best team in the country during 2020/21 championship and in winning the 2022 league.
What exactly is Davy bringing to the table? You look at the menace and threat that Shane O’Donnell provided on the edge of the square today. Waterford’s most dangerous inside forward Dessie operating around midfield and even the half back line for large sections of the game. Davy now has Waterford on the brink of back to back round Robin eliminations.
Have you looked at the scores teams are putting up this year? Never been seen before.
Rob Downey scored a point towards the middle of the second half and showed more skill and poise than any Tipperary player has shown in multiple years
Waterford weren’t great in any round robin series pre-Davy either
