I don’t think the clubs would trust the county board to invest that 1k wisely - the county board is asleep at the wheel. For instance - I can’t see any joined up approach with S&C across the board within the county.
Interesting choice of venue for the pre match meal today.
A sign of things to come perhaps.
They probably got a ham sandwich from centra did they?
Cashel Palace.
The main issue with the 65 (apart from how it was awarded) was that it was taken far more centrally than where the ball went out.
The first two goals were the products of Waterford overplaying the ball out of defence, the third goal Waterford getting outnumbered with acres of space and the fourth goal some iffy near post goalkeeping with Tony Kelly squirming the ball through from a very tight angle.
With so many bodies in defence with Davyball, I find it very difficult to understand how they can concede goals like that.
Tipperary were as bad today as any division 1 team I’ve ever seen. And I include ourselves in that.
It’s actually sad to see it. They properly gave up on a few balls too.
Cork are quintessential flat track bullies.
If they meet Limerick again when it matters to Limerick I’d be putting my heavily mortgaged house on Kiely and Kinnerk.
They’re not playing proper Davy Ball anymore.
So they’re not.
What does the rulebook provide if a free or indeed any placed ball is taken from an incorrect position and is called by the referee? Is it retaken or is it a throw ball?
I didn’t really notice it at the time as I was in the pub watching but TDB really aught to have left TKs final ball in wide, I cannot comprehend what he had to be gained from catching a ball going wide on his own end line.
Jesus that’s a shameful turnout from the Tipp support today.
No idea. Between the umpire, linesman and ref it shouldn’t be too hard to make sure it is in the correct place before being allowed to be taken.
Fuck me but that’s appalling defending from Tipperary there.
There is a disconnect between the tipp hurling public and the intercounty team - the poor performances over the year and perhaps lack of crowd rising stars could be the reason for it.
The attendances and interest in the club championship is high in Tipperary - the same interest isn’t in the county team.
In comparison - I attended Patrickswell v Na Piarsaigh game last year and couldn’t get over the small crowd at it - where as Limerick county team has a large following - suppose its all down to success
That’s the thing with Tipp . More times than not they are useless , then come with a good team for a bit and totally lose the run of themselves and then go back useless for another while.
Something I thought interesting - Waterford had only four players in their match day 26 who featured in the sides first round robin meeting in 2018.
Given how wide open at the back they are and had no consistent goal threat at the other end surely a man on man approach would suit them more. They commit so many bodies to the middle third they almost crowd themselves out of it at times.
Waterford just look a badly coached team. Yes, they had a few minor refereeing quibbles but that wasn’t the winning and losing of the game today. Waterford did more of the hurling than Clare but to concede the number of bad goals that they did today is down to a systems failure.
What do you think Bomber’s role is now?
Does he have a job in the set up or is he driver or something?
That’s just not true.
This is a total aberration and it will turn again.
