Thereās approx 1,800 dairy farms in Tipp per the last census.
Out of a population of 170k.
Tipp should be easily selling out their quota of tickets for a glamour tie like this.

Yes but its different. Things have calmed down and quietened. You can go milking after coming home from a match at 8 or 9pm in July but you wonāt get away with that in April. Its too hectic with young calves still there to be fed.
There was a very good reason the 3 key pillars of Irish life - All Ireland Finals, National Ploughing Championships and the Listowel Races were all held in September for over 100 years.

Galway played Dublin in a defacto knockout Leinster championship game at home in 2024 and barely got 8k.
Kerry, which is a football mad county get nobody going to home games anymore. Cork v Kerry used to pack out Killarney not so long ago.
Tipp will still bring a fine crowd, more than what any other county will bring next weekend bar Cork but of course its always Tipp that make the headlines and get slagged off on these things. Its water off a ducks back anyway.

You see the same with Leinster rubby and the Irish soccer team. Not all games are created equal and some fans just want to save themselves for the big day. Id feel sorry for the players all the same

Advantage Cork straight away - the wily Tipp crowd might know second season syndrome is in the post - and donāt want to be in the stadium for what could be another clipping.
Suspect this season will reveal Tipp massively overachieved last season based on corks and Kilkenny meltdown in croke park last year.

Waterford support has been very poor in recent years. Iām not hearing of too many travelling to Ennis on Sunday either. Fairly putrid style, ongoing little public faith in management and a dislike of round-Robin system contributory factors as well.
