Pretty much as I expected. That Tipp team had far too many passengers to make an impression on that strong a Kilkenny side.
TJ Reid is some enigma. Played a huge amount of ball today. Brilliant and awful in equal measure.

All Ireland is Galways to lose
Yeah, he fielded and played some terrific ball but end product wise, there wasn’t much from him.
Cody will never trust him for a big match or a full campaign.
Ah lovely didn’t see any result til after I saw my paddy power account. Had 30 notes on a treble of Kilkenny, Offaly and Antrim all to beat the handicap. Returned 229.62
Jaysus Lads, Tipp were poor - Granted they played a number of less experienced players but were they not sprung from the multitude of pre-destined super stars they have been grooming for the past 5/6 years. John O Brien, the 2 better known Mahers and Pa Bourke looked extremely lethargic, they brought no urgency or fight to Nowlan Park and KK pulled away at their ease when neccessary. Despite assurances form the Tipp crowd that all is well, the demeanour and body language of players and management suggested differently today.Had Kilkenny been in more clinical form they would have won by 15 points
I hear Buggy was found out again today
I thought it was Corks with Conor Lehane HOTY?
You’d hardly have even known he was there. Tipp kept pumping ball in on top of him and I don’t think he won one.
While he has been a smashing underage player he looks to me to be a lad who is seriously lacking in guile and movement to make an impression at senior level. Tis easy horse lads out of it at minor or 21’s level when you have inches and a few stone on your opposite man at senior level it just doesn’t happen
Christ, he’s their new Webster!
Their own club scene doesn’t help matters where by all accounts he ates teams alive, some big goal tallies accrued last year - If they were more self aware of the deficincies in their club senior championship they might have at least more realistic expectations for a guy of Buggys value to current senior inter-county - banging in goals for fun against Gortnahoe varies inexplicably form the prospect of being marshalled by Delaney with Jackie and Hickey also covering for him.
Disappointing start for the reigning Allianz National Hurling League Champions, I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve watched the match back.
The Runt and Liam Flag bestriding this league like behemoths already
Whether it’s predicting share prices or National League scores Runt & Liam Flag are a cut above the rest
Gortnahoe are intermediate and hurl in Mid Tipperary. O’Meara hurls senior for Kilruane in North Tipperary.
Promising under-age hurler in struggle to make the transition to senior inter- county grade shocker…
Great to see the feelgood factor Ollie Baker has brought to Offaly hurling is continuing.
Alan Cunningham will have their hurling sharp for the championship if nothing else
Tipp looked terrible today. Worryingly poor. No sharpness and a shaky enough semblance of a gameplan. Playing crossfield balls to static players against Kilkenny is completely pointless. You haven’t a hope of taking a 50/50 ball standing against the Kilkenny backs. As for Kilkenny, they might not have been too gone on shorter passing in recent years but such is their skill level they seem to have adapted a bit of it with no fuss at all.
Good win for Galway today. Dublin looked bad but there was a nice physical edge from Galway’s younger players which was good to see. Had a lot more energy than Dublin and outfought them in the end. Looks like Dublin or Waterford for the drop on this weekend’s showings.
Tipp, Waterford and Limerick are all playing with weak managers - I hereby withdraw my nomination of Tipp as All-Ireland champions and replace them with Kilkenny.
Cork look a good bet for Munster even at this stage.
Early days but broadly in agreement here. Only the league etc but Dublin were a bit too poor for comfort today. Galways young guns will have it much tougher next time v Tipp but couldn’t have asked much more from them(bar a goal or two maybe). They hustled Dublin out of it completely which was pleasing to see.
Where have we heard that before?
