Joe Cooney was marking Michael Fennelly for most of game from what I could see, when the pressure came on in the second half he wasnt found wantingā¦ indeed all Galway backs hurled very well. Niall Donohue has a lovely bit of grit about him.
Tannion didnt fire at all, silly mistakes and poor discipline and he deserved to be subbed. Aidan harte is not cut out for IC hurling IMHO, shouldnt have lasted the whole game.
Canning took his frees well and when he got chances to score points from play he choose to make goals instead and definitly created 2 if not 3.
Glennon and Healy did ok though the latter ran out of steam. Glynn and Burke were well watched.
Our inabilty to score points is offset by our ability to get goalsā¦ the goals wont come everyday though.
Donnellan, David Burke and Andy Smith will prob all retain their places in time but Healy, Glynn and Gleenon will give selection headaches and the Thomases lads have to rejoin yet.
Great day out in Salthillā¦ one of the highlights was watching Tommy Walsh catch a ball cleanly over Johnny Glynns head and the crowd wondering how the hell he did it depite Glynn having half a foot of an advantage.
Shut your fucking face. Just fucking shut it.
.
Agree entirely with kp above though I only watched on telly. The Galway backs were great. The midfield was worryingly overrun. Kk were better than I thought they would be at this time of year. They looked the better team. Galway need to score points from out the field but with kk way on top in the middle this was difficult. I am really worried that Galway still need goals so much. Great great win over kk all the same, and kk were up for that no doubt. Cody would have wanted to stamp on a few necks. Great pride and work and fight from every one of the Galway lads. Mighty stuff.
KK have come out in the last few years first day out in the league and handed a few beatings to Tipp to put them back in their box . Neither team was close to full strength so you canāt read too much into the result. Galway scored 3-5 from play KK got 0-7 so the forwards werenāt as bad as everyone seems to be making out.
Clareboys scurrying for cover already:p
Tom Ryan had a nice cut off Tipperary today in his Daily Mail column. Hard to disagree with the man.
Link please!
Canāt find one WYT, only saw the paper in the local today.

Jimmy Barry-Murphy and his selectors have made a number of personnel and positional changes from the team that started Corkās first league game against Tipperary. LorcĆ”n McLoughlin moves to centre back, while Christopher Joyce is named at wing back in place of William Egan. Captain Pa Cronin returns from suspension to parther Daniel Kearney, while Paudie OāSullivan and Cian McCarthy have exchanged positions. Following an impressive campaign with his club, Kildorrery, last year, including a Munster Club Final victory, Peter OāBrien makes his Allianz League dĆ©but at full forward, replacing Luke OāFarrell.
Where is St Itas Turenne
Its Gortroe, a tiny seaside village in between Youghal and Killeagh. Were Junior B up to you a few years ago.
Can that little cunt Hartnett play for Midleton now ya? Iām asking a stupid question there Iād say.
Clare beat Connacht by two points.
Canning drops the ball in around the square from 50yds out with 2 minutes of time left, when he should have taken a point.
Clare had a rake of wides.
Clare didnāt āhave a rake of widesā
Good win for the Banner. That was a strong enough Galway team.
Yeah, will put pay to the naysayers saying we wouldnt compete physically etc. Galway had 3 1-1s with keeper and converted none. We got the breaks today but Clare fought very hard
Cork were atrocious today, Waterford far superior team but squandered three goal chances at the end. What was the Clare team today?
