At the same time Charlton did fuck all before managing us and nothing after managing us. I believe in the right man at the right time kinda thing.
Moran had it appparently but some lad didn’t turn up for the vote. Good old FAI. It would have been a strange appointment - another Stan?
Bob Paisley was interviewed for the job when Charlton got it. A couple of years after quitting Liverpool with his 5 Leagues and 3 European Cups. Incredible to think he didn’t get it.

Bob Paisley?? For real?
Yep.
Imagine him in charge of those players.
What a load of bull. Charlton had been a super manager at Middlesborough and brought on the likes of Craig Johnston, Graeme Souness and David Mills, all of whom were sold on by the club in its wisdom.

It was set up for Paisley, but in true FAI fashion someone switched their vote.
He got them promoted to the First Division didn’t he? Did he kind of tail off a bit after that?
Still no Bob Paisley.

Fuckin jaysus, Paisley!.. Whelan, Houghton, Sheedy, McGrath, Aldridge… He would have had Stapleton and Brady earlier on.
We would have won the lot!

He did indeed. And they led the old first division for a time before they ran out of gas
Mick McCarthy has been linked with it this time, it’ll be interesting to see where he is in a few years time as well.
He did pretty average while managing us aswell.
Hopefully the new manager will bring Slab Murphy back into the fold. Would be great for him to form a Provo-Realer alliance up front with Stokesy.
Keane as Asst Manager to MON :o
Where you getting that from?
Robbie I presume? As the other fella is a bout as useful as a chocolate teapot.
