I’m in floods of tears here after seeing that picture with the Italian gentleman there with the glasses and black t shirt and he still alive doing the daily grind. He used to love seeing me coming in the door every morning. I suppose I appreciated the food and I’d leave good money behind me.

His greeting and the way his face lit up every morning transcended business. I could see he took it as a great compliment that I made it a little tradition of my week to come in there every morning, even though I was staying 40mins away, and to be honest I think it made his day each time.

A 3 egg omelette with cheddar and a coffee.
