Ulster is the future - the kids are alright @Halfpipe
I wish it was so
Clare goalkeeper very hard done by there. A very good selection otherwise
Anyone know how to buy tickets for Minor Football Final in Armagh next weekend? Iâve a neighbour from Monaghan who wants to travel up.
Monaghan given a lifeline here with the Derry red card
Derry played better with a man down in the semi though
It was vital for the GAA to have those four massive flags placed strategically behind the goals. Otherwise people might have forgot this was a GAA game.
âDreamsâ by Derryâs finest, The Cranberries, is blasted out to celebrate Derry winning the childrenâs All-Ireland.
Youâd think whoever controls the music would have had the wit to play Teenage Kicks.
Derry the better team but Monaghan had some terrible wides. The red was well deserved though,a snakey boot
UachtarĂĄn Cumann Loo Class Gael Labhras MacCarthaigh presents the Derry childrenâs captain with the âTom Markey Cupâ, as Labhras calls it.
Wasnât really a boot though, more a nudge with a shin. Nowhere near as bad as what the monaghan lads were up to
The linesman must have seen it though
Technically a sending off, silly boy. Monaghan were very cynical with the late tackles though
Meh
Woeful shite
Derry are purring
How are teams shaking up for the upcoming season?
Clare under 20s donât have a huge amount of starters from last years side left - Sean Rynne til the seniors start and Jack OâNeill from the side that played in last years Munster final - Senan Dunford is still underage but out injured while Whelan, OâFarrell and Stritch all got game time in the round robin and off the bench last year.
This group were beaten by 40+ points by Cork at minor three years ago and despite the next two groups being full of quality players I believe that 10 or more of the lads who played that night v Cork are likely to be in the first 20. Sheedy, Gunning, James Hegarty and one or two others from last years minors should be close to starting. A handful of lads who werenât involved at minor level are pushing for spots in the 26 which is good to hear.
Think they will be a solid enough side but nobody got within 10 points of Cork at minor level three years ago and will be the team to beat.
Marc OâBrien is the only starter remaining from last years minor team and they are probably closer to the standard of the 2022 team so they should be competitive but no huge expectations around them either.
Limerick sound like theyâre going well considering they wouldnât have had good years at minor in either 2021 or 2022 (although got as close as anyone to Cork but that wasnât close at all).
Have about 6 fellas who were on the senior panel early in the year, 7 or 8 starters from last year and a couple of decent minors from last year.
Cork will be the team to beat though. Darragh & Ross OâSullivan, Healy, Buckley, Wilk, Leahy, Cremin, OâConnell, Dwyer all starters at 20s last year when they won the AI. Leahy, Buckley & Healy in particular being standout players from midfield up.
No Ben OâConnor but they will probably be too strong regardless.
