Official All Ireland Minor and U20 Hurling & Football Thread (Part 2)

What relation is Xavier to Maurice?

I dealt with Maurice when he was in the bank in Templemore. Saw him hurl for Holycross too. A hardy buck

They robbed Offaly a few years ago. These things tend to even themselves out

Great to see a Cork man win An All Ireland today.

Who was on co-comms today? He was outstanding I thought and added to the chaos and drama in the last few.

“Shoot, JR, Shoot” was a particular favourite line of mine after John Ross O Reilly’s winning point.

Not the case… fairly even… was all tipp early but then the limericks came in

Want to make another statement… thought he did very well… no feck ups…a few missed and handy frees but ways but overall fairly consistent

I’ve been championing Caimin/Caymun for a while now and thought he did fine again today. He dealt with the square ball as well as could be expected.

Haven’t heard of him being involved in any major fuck ups up to now.

Agree… tought he had a good game today, despite some of the opinions of other posters. Seen him a few times and think he has a chance to progress …

Probably as unlikely a Limerick team ever to win a national title. If you’d said to me in April that we’d get 8 championship games out of this squad I’d have taken your hand off.

To win it is a huge bonus and it gets a peculiar monkey off the back in waiting 42 years for it. Indeed, you could argue that better Limerick teams lost minor All-Irelands, even that better Limerick teams didn’t even get out of Munster but it’s been put to bed now by the unlikely lads.

Credit to their attitude and approach all season and credit to the management for overseeing it. They improved with every game, they corrected mistakes and they kept the focus on the collective.

Not the greatest game. Tense and error strewn accompanied by a tricky wind and a greasy pitch with a rock hard undersurface. Both teams looked nervous (why wouldn’t they, in fairness) but they both gave it their all. Munster hurling is in a good place.

Ah Doon is just a mad town. They’ve been throwing out county minors as long as I’m alive. They just get their head turned easy.

As Mark Landers would say, the Gaelic Grounds is a graveyard for Tipperary hurling teams.

I see the Tipp Premier pod lads are lambasting the decision to agree to play the game there.

They butchered 3 good goals chances failing to give simple passes. Very unlike Woodlock managed sides and you’d get a sense the lads were being greedy looking for headlines.

Can’t overly complain tbh after the scutching we gave poor Offaly a few years ago.

Trying to work a goal that wasn’t on straight from the throw in, was a sign of things to come.

The open goal miss from O’Keefe was a bit unlucky as it came at him very quick. Great save from the initial shot. Still its a goal more often than not.

Then there were three or four handy points in the second half not taken for goals that were never on.

All in all, very naive stuff but you’d expect they’ll be better men for it.

Those cunts can foad

At that age young lads are still immature. There are serious hurlers on that Tipp team but when you let them off inside the white lines its a lottery how they perform.
