The All Seeing Eye has a way of doing this. I donât know if he reads these GAA threads so maybe set up one specifically asking him the question.
A Miltown forward used do it regularly a few years back signed off the call by telling the manager he loved him. Must be a sickener for the lads who give their all when lads leave the panel after getting their gear or when the manager has to ring around lads to have a team for league or championship.
I guess itâs the same in many counties but it shows a shocking lack of character from the players involved.
Top Meath officials Barney Allen and Cyril Creavin are set to fill the selector roles vacated by Liam Harnan and Barry Callaghan on Sunday night, according to a report.
The Irish Independent reports that County Board Chairman Allen and Secretary Creavin will take over on an interim basis with Meathâs first Championship match of the summer - a clash with 2010 All-Ireland semi-finalists Kildare - set to take place in less than two weeks.
A statement issued yesterday in the wake of Harnan and Callaghanâs decision to quit - which came soon after the return of 38-year-old Graham Geraghty to the panel was announced - said that the replacement selectors must be from Meath.
The rest of Meath manager Seamus McEnaneyâs coaching group are from outside Meath and McEnaney himself is the first ever Meath manager who is not from the Royal County. He was elected with strong backing from Harnan in October 2010.
It is understood that Allen and Creavin will fill in on an interim basis with new selectors likely to be in place before Meathâs second Championship outing, which win or lose is scheduled for the end of June.
Kinsella and McCann shoot Dubs through

DUBLIN were comfortable 2-13 to 1-9 winners over Wicklow in last nightâs Leinster JFC first round tie at Parnell Park.
Wicklow were unable to build on a good start and a slicker Dublin were soon back on top when Eoin Kinsella crashed the ball to the net to send the Dubs to a 1-9 to 1-4 interval lead.
Any hope of a Wicklow upset was gone inside four minutes of the second half when Odhran McCann fired home the second Dublin goal.
Meanwhile, Kildare dethroned Leinster champions Louth in Newbridge last night, winning 2-14 to 1-8.
The home side made a blistering start, with the returning Mikey Conway at the heart of most of their good work, and were 1-6 to 0-0 ahead after 20 minutes.
Louth kept battling away during the second half but Kildare were far too good on the night.
Elsewhere, a late rally helped Cavan advance to the semi-finals at the expense of neighbours Longford on a 1-12 to 2-6 scoreline.
Despite having a depleted side, Longford kept with Cavan throughout the game and were unfortunate not to snatch a dramatic win when a shot from James Noonan was blocked at the end and then Enda Ledwithâs late free came back off the crossbar.
Meanwhile Kilkenny produced a major shock as a goal from midfielder Michael Malone earned them a dramatic and very rare win over Wexford at Nowlan Park last night.
Wexford, who had led most of the way, looked to have secured their passage into the next round when they led by two points, but Maloneâs goal earned Kilkenny a 3-5 to 0-13 victory.
