I also called Derry to win this match earlier on the thread
Andy Mallon is seething.
Sid knows the score.
Sid your hard on for Down is quite misplaced. Comparing them and Tipp is an insult as well, Tipp are a complete team, Down have more holes than a Brazilian porn.
Armagh are woefully inconsistent, but are a decent side when motoring and i think the addition of McGrane & McConville will reap benefit in this year and next. All the Ulster teams are inconsistent these days to be honest.
Realistically Cork and Kerry are the only truly consistent proven class teams.
The quarter final v Kerry in 2006 is the answer, Martin
Ha 2 bluffers. MBB disregarded Derry the other day, yet now has firmly jumped on the bandwagon.
They have some very talented players and should be doing better than they are. Paddy OāRourke hasnāt clue though.
Kev seething that his beloved Armagh have let him down again. Let it go Kev, Iāve been right about this bunch for some time
Congrats to John Brennan, he done everything right, even down to getting Bradley out when it looked like Mallon was trying to get him the line.
KIB style self congratulation is nice once in a while
Was that Paddy Bradley I spied out on the field after the game? Nice touch to keep him involved if so.
Thats why i think the 2 lads will help them. I said way back they needed a more Armagh type approach. Think heās too nice for them.
You were saying they were a good team very recently. Some man to hedge a bet and then jump off the fence on the winner riding past.
No Ulster team will win the All-Ireland, iād be willing to bet against the whole province.
Lay the bet then if youāre that confident?
Post up where I said Armagh were a very good team by the way.
Ya but you are actually right in this case. KIB congratulates himself when heās lost as well.
who said very?
Enjoy the win, you wonāt get many of your own i suppose.
Ridiculous notion really that a 67 year old rookie inter county manager could hope to win anything with a consistently under achieving county prone to in-fighting, by playing an attractive attacking style.
That was the best Iāve seen a Derry team play for a long, long time. Before today Derry hadnāt reached an Ulster final since 2000, every other Ulster county had reached at least one since then.
Kev,youāre coming across as a football snob here.
Your anti Ulster bias sounds alarmingly like Pat Spillane.
Bwahahahahahaha.
Kevin is being very bitter here because MBB called Armagh abilities correctly and he did not. Grow up Kevin.
Not anti Ulster at all Manus, they are just not as good as they were in recent times. Have a feeling its only for a short term though and a period of dominance is coming again with a wave of more positive attacking football with young managers. But right now none of them are All-Ireland contenders in my honest opinion.
Point is Bandage he didnāt call anything, 2 years ago he said they were shit, and again last year. I just disagreed with him and said they had serious potential and heās been banging on about it anytime they lose. While i didnāt go over board on the Down win, neither would i go the other way on this loss. As i said back along i feel they need a different manager and/or approach.
Now fuck off Bandage, you are getting involved in a disagreement you clearly donāt have a full grasp ofā¦
Clearly Down were a bit of a let down against Armagh Kev. Armagh for whatever reason have a complete hold over Down at every level at the moment. Down lost to them in the minor after being 11 points up and even lost to them in the Ulster Hurling Championship. I think the difference is that Armagh specifically targetted that match far more than Down did. They hit very few wides and played to a far higher standard than they did today. The speculation about Clarke going back to Australia might have affected them a bit although thatās not an excuse.
Whatās the latest about Clarke by the way, anybody know? Collingwood seemed to be playing down the chances of him coming back and there hasnāt been any news about him signing a contract or anything.
If Down can get a few wins under their belt in the qualifiers (away to Clare is a nice easy start) and get Ambrose Rogers back playing they arenāt gne by a long shot. Young Caolan Mooney has been brought into the panel, a seriously talented underage player and a great finisher. Heās off to Collingwood as well though at the end of the championship. Fucking Aussies
