Sid my view is heavily based on the gaping holes Cork made into them last year, and other teams have since exposed. They have a few wonderful footballers, but have quite a few passengers.

I watched a AFL round up here last week sid where they did a Irish segment (cringe worthy with Setanta & Touhy), but they seem sure he was coming back to Collingwood. Thats all i have really. They openly mock the Irish players on tv here.
Again with the new star player Sid, is he a midfielder or a tight marking back? Cos if heās not then not much will change. The John Clarke thing was probably the most negative thing i think to come out recently and i wonder is wee James only barely keeping it together.

Iām not suprised by that at all Kev, Australia is possibly the most xenophobic first world nation on this earth.

You see, the only places you seem to have been is Sydney and maybe a few of the reasonably near tourist attractions. I have found though there is an amazing difference, more pronounced than anywhere iāve ever been, between the city & rural folk and how they deal with people, how they look after themselves, their work aptitude & ethic. In Brisbane for instance, you only have to go as far as Ipswich for it to be a completely different world.
I would live in Brisbane in a heart beat, but i wouldnāt be living too far out of it.

Keneally is a star to anyone with interest in AFL. Melbourne the home of AFL, they would certainly know who he is. In QLD, AFL wouldnt be all that popular. Same as some no teeth farmer in Cavan might not know much about Ronan Curran. On Kenneally, no doubt he does love himself but for a man who now ālikes what he seesā in his appearance, I thought you would appreciate that bit of his character?
Obviously things are more pronounced in Aus, it is a country of 25m people and a country that is bigger than Europe. Your eureka moment of personalities being different, rural v urban, shouldnt be that surprising.

The rural Australia i have seen is light years behind rural Ireland i know in so many ways. The USA, which is a far bigger country population wise, certainly didnāt have the same wide differences as here.
And i would say most farmers in Cavan would know exactly who Ronan Curran is.
On Kenneally, you repeated my point, people into AFL would know wjo he is, a large majority of people in Melbourne are into it so it would follow they know him. Absolutely nobody in Queensland seems to know who he is. AFL is virtually not played outside the city boundries in QLD.
Anyway, iām talking to the others, who seem to know more what they are talking about than you, even though you live there.
Turenne, what are you basing that on? Its hardly surprising that a country of 22 million people with a history of British colonialism has some portion of its population who are xenophobic, racist, white supremicist cunts, you only have to look at the opposition Liberal party to see that. But the reality is that Australia is a highly successful multi cultural society. Have a walk down any street in any Australian city and youāll see that.
Having lived here for 11 years (so fuck the rest of you, I am the senior authority on all things Australian here) I have seen my fair share of xenophobia in Australia, but Iāve seen far worse in America and other countries, including Ireland.

Yes there is elements of it everywhere. Ireland got really bad for it during āthose yearsā. But Oz id the worst i have come across, espceially from complete wasters who have very little to be proud of.
