A lot of dross there. Last year would be the only year that would impress you and even at that, how good were Derry and Monaghan really?

doyle is an excellent fielder to be fair, but theres no one to replace him inside. Earley was a huge loss to this team, but they look like they learned how to play football out of a book. they have no flair with the exception of doyle.

And theyre gameplan in the last 15 mins was to “drive it long” was never going to work as o’carroll is on of the top fuill backs around at present.

they have 4 quality players; cluxton ocarroll and the brogans, they have 11 athletes elsewhere… they could still steamroll wexford but if we play expansive quick ball we will worry them

You can only beat what’s put in front of you*

*another standard cliche but true in this case

True but you should beat dross out the gate. And when serious teams came in front of them, they were beaten. Just never bought the hype about them, in the same way as I never bought it about Meath when they were getting to All Ireland semi finals. Sometimes you can just get a favourable draw through the back door and next minute you’re in an All Ireland semi final.

anyone know where youd get stats on the dublin kildare game? as in detailed stats…

telling them they had to work harder is hardly mind boggling management skills now runt is it?

They did, certainly gave Laois a hiding in '09. Big wins over Derry and Meath also.

I’d argue that Meath have more talented players but been poorly coached. Kildare are a far more formidable unit. It’s hardly an indictment of them that they were beaten by Cork, Tyrone and Down and they weren’t beaten by much in any of those matches.

And Laois were fair dross that day, no arguments here. But thought we were talking about qualifiers Sid?

Meath have more talented forwards (albeit no pacy ones), but are lacking a midfield and out and out defenders. A system would be a huge benefit to them, but Banty cant implement it in a matter of weeks.

I thought we were talking about Gaelic football

We are Sid, its the Official All Ireland Senior Football Championship 2011 Thread. We had drilled down to the Qualifiers though, were you not paying attention?

Ah wake up Kev and take him off my hands, he’s doing it to me now

 Leave the cunt sleep FFS. With a little luck he might even be out seeing a little bit of the country instead of viewing it from internet café’s or behind a laptop.

Watched the rest of the game last night. Terrific match, two teams out to play football and they played it well. Some fascinating tactical battles but a lot of bollocks passing as tactics, more confusion than anything. I think McGeeney’s tactical genius is well overrated. Fuck but he’s an intense one alright isn’t he?

This was a big battle for Dublin to win, playing 14 men for the entire game. They find another decent forward and they will go well.

I know there has been some, ahem, debate over it on this thread, but that was without doubt the softest free I’ve ever seen given in any game anywhere. Brutal refereeing, anyone who says that was a free has clearly never played the game. Hard luck on Kildare, but they had plenty of chances to put this game away, though that Dub FB line is excellent.

Dublin have beat Kildare twice with 14 men for a decent stretch. Pretty disappointing that for McGeeney and Kildare.

TASE won’t be happy.

Shite, I was going to wait and try and pick up a ticket handy enough in Killarney, I better get onto the club.

Cork supporters turn up for the big ones

Cork supporters have always travelled big to Killarney Fitz, sometimes even outnumbering the animals.

Kerry supporters don’t travel until August Kev.

Thats a very good question, was wondering the same. Are the same kind of stats that Rocko was posting for the Champions League soccerball available for GAA games anywhere?
