What’s your personal best for the 26.2?
Did the half in the Phoenix Park last Saturday in 1.46. Bit disappointed as was hoping to duck under 1.45.
Never ran a full marathon. Did the R&R half marathon in 1hr 22mins 6secs last year. I’m in much better shape now (I think).
my wife is on her 3rd successive DCM this year…I couldn’t even contemplate running 10m, the boredom of it kills me
What is her PB kid?
just under 4 hours …she runs with the clare crusaders…
http://clarecrusaders.ie/site/content/running-group
they bring in the kids (autism, celerbral palsy, downs syndrome) to meet the runners the sat before each DCM and to be honest it would make even the coldest heart melt

I’ve a theory from reading about 3 of your posts and a little I’ve been told that you are doing your long runs too fast… They should be done around 45s to a minute slower than race pace. Worked a treat for me with half marathon time recently anyway.
What time you do CB?
7miles this morning @9.10 m/m
1.32.27 For me that was about 5 mins better than same race previous year which was a pb.
Was that the Dublin half in Pheonix Park? That’s a great time, tough course. You would definitely go sub 1.30 on a flatter half.
You running the Marathon?
Ran Rathfarnham 5k in 17.04 this morning or 5.29 m/m. Happy with this.

No a local half down here in the midlands.
Have signed up to do Dublin. Did second 22 miles today. Back to 18 next Sunday. Never did one before so hard to pick a pace to start out at. I might never do one again so want to leave it out there but don’t want to completely crash either. I’ll prob end up trying to go somewhere between 7.45 and 8 mins/mile.

I think I will head out at 6.40 pace. I might even go 6.45. Two big weeks of training left.
Next week I plan a LSR of 21/22 miles on Wednesday, Parkrun on Saturday and a MLR of about 16 on Sunday with 14 @6.40ish. Other days, I’ll just keep logging easy miles.
10 miles today @6.59 m/m.
Doing the run in the dark on the 12 Nov, pb for a ten k is about 46, would love to crack 45, flat track too…
12 miles tonight @8.00 m/m.
23 miles today @ 7.30 m/m.
5.5 miles tonight @ 9.14 m/m.
8 miles today @ 8.37 m/m.
