This one has to be read to be believed. A fucking disgrace
Galway 1-16 Donegal 0-12
Leading 1-11 to 0-02 at half-time, the Galway team left the pitch to a standing ovation such was the impressive nature of their performance.
Seven minutes into the second half Galway stretched their lead to 1-13 0-03 when Michael Meehan knocked over a twenty-metre free-kick.
Gareth Bradshaw grabbed a fine point to reduce the arrears for Donegal.
Ciarn Bonner and Michael Meehan dropped over further points for Galway in the second half but they soon after went to sleep and Donegal took control of the tie reducing the arrears significantly to 1-15 to 0-12.
Donegal never seriously threatened the tie; however, and two further Michael Meehan points towards the end sealed the tie for Galway.
RTE are ridiculous. They are always getting names mixed up.
They should be taken out and shot.
Donāt know Puke. Only 19 lads trained fully tonight - apparently Sully is concentrating on Rugby with Highfield (no, really), was there but didnāt tog out, Tom Kenny, Jerry OāConnor and Timmy Mac are supposed to be injured and five of those training were 09 lads. I get the very worrying feeling that the team on Sunday is going to be very cobbled together, the five 09 lads plus who ever is fittest of the 08 panel.
Jesus. Iāll have a cut, just off top of my head now. I suspect theyāll go for a few 09, a few Fitz players and a couple of old stagers.
Here goes.
Anthony Nash
Shane Oā Neill
Eoin Dillion
Brian Murphy
Kevin Hartnett
Ronan Curran
Eoin Cadogan
Barry Johnson
Adrian Manix
Rob White
Brian Corry
Tadgh Og Murphy
Ben Oā Connor
Kevin Canty??? Fucked for full forward, canāt think of anyone, but i played against this fella recently so he comes to mind.
Cathal Naughton
Full Forward is as much a problem as full back. Iād pick Fraggie Murphy but i believe he is injuried.
Iām editing on hearing Turreneās injury list there.
Turrene, whats that tasty little midfielder from Youghal again, CIT player last year and U-21 i think as well last year?
Timmy Mac will hardly get his place on the panel this yearā¦Would Fintan O Leary be anywhere close to the cork panelā¦Was impressed with him in the fitz over the past couple of years
Timmy Mac will get a chance, if he makes it or not iām not sure, but heās be perfect for ye away Puke.
Fintan Oā Leary will be one of these guys who will do unreal things for club and college, but will never be Inter-County, much like Callinan.
Shane OāNeill
Diarmiud OāSullivan
Brian Murphy
Kevin Hartnett
Ronan Curran
John Gardiner
Cathal Naughton
Tom Kenny
Tadgh Og Murphy
Niall McCarthy
Pa Cronin
Pa Horgan
Fraggie Murphy
Ben OāConnor
The forwards are a complete guess - Naughton, Pa Horgan, Niall Mac and Ben OāConnor will start Iām sure, but thats assuming their fit, and they might not be. The backs pick themselves - but again, guessing about playerās fitness. Iām assuming Timmy Maac and Jerry OāConnor are out injured completely.
We will know more after the next training, but i would give Clare a decent chance of a win on tonightās reports.
No way will Sully be played if heās playing rugby, end of. I would think going by other similar incidents that he would be told go jump, and rightly so, it IC hurling for fuck sake.
There was another wing forward for WIT from Cork this yearā¦His first name was aslo Fintan(or somethinbg fairly similar), though his surname was gould, could well have been Goodā¦
Who are they going to play ahead of him? Dillon didnāt train, unless he was on the 08 panel without my knowledge. He is likely to be the fittest of the lot. Iām only going by what Considine said in the paper which was little vague - no guarantee that he is going to be playing for Highfield before Cork, weāll have to wait and see.
